Basic spec Renaultsport Clio Race Series

Unfortunately Daniel, wherever there is competition, there is cheating. Thats how it works. Those that win the most, are quite often not the best competitors, but the best cheats lol.

Basic spec Renaultsport Clio Race Series

Thats because people like to win, racing is fun, but not if you are constantly floating around at the bottom of the grid. Hence people will cheat, as i said to Nick & Ollie the other day, i look forwards to hearing about you fitting secret cams & a mappable standard ecu with various maps/power...

Basic spec Renaultsport Clio Race Series

I like this thread, purely because it reminds me that 99% of people have absolutely no idea on how much it costs to go racing. Buying/prepping the car is the cheap bit (even if you spend £15k, as you will get most of that back when you sell), its the ongoing costs that get you. This series is a...

    Yes, it's a Dacia!

I just cant get my head around the brand/model name lol, to me, as someone born in the early 80's, i just think of a Dacia Duster as this:

    Yes, it's a Dacia!

Personally, i can think of 15k reasons not to spend £15k on one, but if it suits your needs & your happy with it, then good on ya. Unless you bought it 2nd hand, in which case i imagine it was fantastic VFM due to initial depreciation? Will be interested to see how Renault's cheap(er) brand...

A Mini Adventure, to JCW GP...

50Kg's lighter than the normal one iirc, so 1120kg's in total. No rear seats, no xenons, less sound deadening, lighter wheels, aluminium rear trailing arms (same as R56), along with a few other little odds & sods that all add up. Circa 195bhp per ton.

A Mini Adventure, to JCW GP...

[/COLOR] I've edited that for you, just to reflect a more accurate statement of affairs lol. I gather that the GP2 is quicker overall, but the GP1 is the more 'pure' experience. In terms of reading, whilst it is a US website, you can spend hours reading about them both here...

A Mini Adventure, to JCW GP...

If i wanted spec id buy another 3 series lol, load speed fun, with a higher quality interior is what im after these days!! GP fits that bill perfectly tbh. Nah, they were all fine (although i stupidly forgot to check for the orange jacking blocks, think they were there in a little bag in the...

    Jon's E46 Topaz Blue 330Ci

Whats going on with the front wheel there lol. Either you're running positive camber, something broken, or you've fitted silly spacers like Christopher? Height is good mind.

    My New Blue Oval Project...

I love these tbh, drive brilliantly - although i would have to have a blue one!! I'd perhaps look a bit old/grey for one these days as well lol. Never seen satnav either, must be mega rare

Ha ha, the wonder of excel, like statistics, is that they can say whatever you want them to say ... Thought you might like it, didnt get it from Scotland btw, Nankang tyres :dead: Think it is actually!! Lowest ever, even my fiesta in '00 had just over 50k i think. Ed30 had 18k, but that was...

A Mini Adventure, to JCW GP...

lol. Thought you might say that fellow ex-Trophy owner :p Mine was in Rye, East Sussex. Nearly got on the plane to view a sub £10k one in Scotland, but this one was a lot closer with better history/tyres, etc!!! Had a nice afternoon driving along the south coast in the sun as well on...

A Mini Adventure, to JCW GP...

Its an investment ;) So yeah, hopefully their values will hold firm, they certainly have for the past couple of years ... Hatred for Mini within FailSport is so strong :dapprove: Yeah, it was always going to happen really, but only if the house deposit was sorted 1st, which after a load of...

A Mini Adventure, to JCW GP...

Re: A Mini Adventure ... So yeah, after totting up what i wanted to spend on the MCS, ascertaining how much of it was 'throw away money' i.e. engine work & bodykit, i decided that if i could buy a quicker, better looking car, with minimal depreciation, it might just work better for my wallet. A...

Re: A Mini Adventure ... Umm yes, not best impressed tbh. Reminded me why i normally do everything on the car myself :slap: Will order some of those then! Although as they passenger side ones were fine, i think it was just sloppy workmanship ... Its epic, i keep looking at GP's now lol.

A Mini Adventure, to JCW GP...

Re: A Mini Adventure ... So 10 days after having the pulley/R56S front brakes fitted, the front end started to rattle a bit over speed bumps, changes in road surface etc - as it started doing it after i 'bedded' the pads in, i assumed that either the pad retainers had fallen out, or the M1144's...

Would you go from a 200 back to a 1*2?

I found the 197 Cup to excellent when i was properly on it, the gearbox/brakes making up for the electric steering & lack of low down pull. In normal day to day driving, it did my head in & lasted for 3 weeks.

New Clio 182 Series - 750 Motor Club

I'd do this if it were sensible (which it currently isnt), spec could be along the following lines: All 1*2's in together, there is bugger all difference between them. Engine - V6 airbox/Pipercross Race filter, RS inlet, 98 Ron map Exhaust - free from cat back Brakes - CL RC5+ & plain discs...

You dont need to have a stripped out clio to be fast/enjoy track days. Just fold the rear seats down if you want more noise.
