Not that I can remember.
I Just bent the tab down as much as possible when I tightened mine up to make sure it didn't catch. As I say, it's been on for a few years now and it's fine.
Selling already? You're as bad as @leeds_182 !!
Looks absolutely spot on in them pics, other than the crappy old number plates. I was never really a fan of M3's, never saw the appeal but they're growing on me massively lately, especially in the colour yours is.
The tool makes it so much easier. I tried with a fan spanner cut in half that @dann2707 lent me but I couldn't get enough leverage on it to free them up.
Just been for a quick blast. Seems much better and no gear stick wobble at all.
When changing the gearbox mount, it did seem to drop suddenly a shift slightly. Doesn't seem to have made any difference though.
Had to cut the drive short though as my engine bay stunk of fuel and when I looked...
Yeh do a search as the Pagid ones can be dodgy in length.
I replaced mine recently and one was fine, the other was too short. Sure it was the nearside that was fine but the offside was too short. Can't remember though.
I used a 2 jubilee clips on mine for nearly 2 years and they've been fine but I know people have had problems with them catching etc.
You'll need a 70-90 clip for the wider end and 25-35 for the smaller end.
Done and replaced with a Febi mount.
Rubbers seem quite far over towards the engine rather than in the metal 'casing'. Didn't notice this on my old original oem mount.
Normal?
Has someone been naughty and put that spray stuff on it that makes speed cameras not pick your numberplate up? Dont knkw how thatd even work though without a light source nearby or wether that stuff even works at all.
Thought as much ta.
For engine mount, cam cover bolts undone and off first then the mount bolts or other way round, or does that not matter either?
I already know to put jack on sump on a bit of wood to spread the load etc.
Hi all,
Just got a new engine and Upper Gearbox Mounts. Replacing them tomorrow.
Quick question, is it easier to change a particular one before the other or just which one I want first?
Seen a few threads on doing them, doesn't seem like rocket science.
Thanks
I'll be tackling this at the weekend. Mine seemed bloody well stuck in when I was trying to pull them out.
As above, get some oil or something on the o rings to make it a bit easier.
Yep, I remember that 😂
I've still got bits to do before I could think about going on track such as my burning smelly alternator and my holey CV boot that I've just glued together!
Are you coming this year?
What you looking at next year?
We've just bought a house so will hopefully...
