Hmm the cams are timed exactly the same as they were when they cam out. Will take the fucker to peices again tomorrow. Will be something silly like dizzy cap on back wards or lose plugs lol
I've just done a head gasket change on my Westfield. Now i've just rebuilt it. It turns over very easily and sounds like there is no compression. I think it could be the fact the tappet will have probally drained dry. So tomorrow i'll keep turning it over till i've filled the head oil.
Any...
I did piss the person on the phone off though. I didn't know if my engine was an early or late spec. So she asked what colour the cam covers were and i said purple lol
I went to have the carbs re-set up today. It turned out they all had different size jets in and it was running very flat after 6000rpm.
Some pics of ot being worked on by David Bogg. He builds grass track race engines and other things. In his workshop there is a V8 tr7 on bike throttle...
I think it runs too lean low down at the moment.
I've fixed the misfire though. Rewired the coil today since the old wiring looked like something out of the victrian times. She'll happily rev off the guage now!
Whats this noise. It sounds like blow back through the carbs. Can be heard as a high pitched tick noise at differing points through the vid??

Well went away and now it back with avengence. All i can describe it that its like a rev limiter that moves around the top half of the rev range. Some times it comes in at 5.1k then other times i can see the dizzying hight of 6.5k.
I'm starting to feel its not fueling since its on and off...
