185bhp hybrid with no internal engine mods?

Is 185bhp with just exhaust, decat, filter, possible on an otherwise standard 2 litre hybrid lump?

Chap on another forum reckons his mate has one but I can't see how for some reason!

Not very likly. Stock is 166hp. So that sort of gains on a stock mapping won't happen.

mk1 16v hybrid, so I guess that's a 1.8 btm end with a willy/megane head?

Most probably, though could just be a valver with a 2.0 in it.

185bhp from that though is most unlikely! lol

HE had cams and remapped I'm sure.

Thats sort of paower might be made with remap and cams or a very good rebuilt engine but unliky.

Its now frenchy's ( Andy's) and yup, its made 185bhp on a few occasions with just breathing mods, has the 1/4 times to prove it aswell! Seems a bit of a freak lump, lol

must have a set of cams in there for that, if it's the only "standard" lump to ever make that figure

Although looking at the mods (which were a bit more than decat and filter) I can see why it's a quick machine, just find 185bhp a bit on the high side, but as you guys say maybe it's just a goodun'.

Hey guys, yep my old one (now andys) has made 185 bhp on 3 different sets of rollers now with pretty much just breathing mods. It hasnt been remapped but does have a hillpower chip.

Andy's ran a 14.1 in it too so shows its a "true" fugure.

It does seem a bit of a freak though!

yeah i didn't realise it'd been chipped plus the SS manifold on it which will help a lot, I was under the impression it was literally just a decat and filter

152 @ wheels tho...yeah bout right tbh...mine made 145-149 a few times with just de-cat n panel filter n cat back..on the original std williams lump

No its not a nick hill engine. Steve A did the conversion and he bought it off Paul.C 16v. Its never had any work to anyones knowledge.
