I've not checked my oil for a long time...I've not had a top up warning ever. I do recall giving it some before a trackday last year though, just to be sure.
I'll check it again and top up if necessary before I hit Bedford in August.
I think they're short enough, any shorter and you'd need a ridiculously big jump from 5th to 6th.
As it is I get to 40 in 1st, 70 in 2nd, 105 in 3rd and then the revs barely drop into 4th which then holds on until 130.
2nd is more than enough if you want to wring it out, and 3rd from walking...
Agreed, completely, which is why I stated very clearly in the video that those margins of error would apply.
Even the fact I'm using 25fps means I'm potentially up to 0.08s out if I judge the start and end wrong by just one frame each at each end.
It wasn't meant to be scientifically accurate.
The purpose of the video was to compare auto v manual, to find out if they're close, or if a country mile separates them.
My methods were more than accurate enough for that, I don't think my conclusion, about a 1 second apart in cars that do 0-100 in about 10 seconds, is flawed in any way.
If...
I bet he'd either spent a ton of cash on sorting the suspension out or, it was a matter of fingers crossed and hoping for the best as he entered every turn.
They're good, very good, but not without the inbuilt flaws you get from giving a 116d 350bhp.
But, yeah, as standard the straightline...
I timed my car to 100 and with a pretty good launch managed 10.3 seconds.
I filmed/timed two ZF8s the other day, one did 9.5s, the other 9.2s.
That's a mental difference. I was expecting maybe 0.5, mine is not a slow car. Watching the speedo footage of them all side by side is painful, it...
To me this is a good thing, twin pipes out back and lack of foglights are the only real giveaways on the 140 and even your most basic poor spec generic sh*t box has twin pipes these days.
To most it's just a car...which means lack of tw*ts trying it on (way less than I used to get in the Focus...
Yeah they're not far off I think 🤣
Other than the leather and inflatable side bolsters it wouldn't surprise me if they were identical.
Imagine how they original M2 owners feel, other than an embossed ///M logo on the backrest they're identical to mine as well.
I would have jumped right in here and said get another memory card, one specifically listed as recommended by GoPro on their site; https://community.gopro.com/t5/en/SD-Cards-that-Work-with-GoPro-Cameras/ta-p/394308#HERO8_MAX
But, as they sent you the card...then there's a fault with either the...
135 has the N55 engine...which I believe is also a single turbo although I'm not sure if it's twin-scroll...and yep it's also a 3.0 litre six.
The N55 was just the N55, its six cylinder turbo motor of its time, whereas the B58 is from BMW's 'modular' engine line-up.
There's the straight six...
Over 21k miles, of which 10k max was commuting (mostly empty roads and lots of roundabouts to play on), the remainder has been just driving for driving so mostly pressing on, filming, or larking about, I've averaged 27.8 MPG. That includes 3 half day trackdays as well.
Drive one more normally...
1. Of my 21k miles so far, 14k+ have been on PS4s, they're a great tyre if you can live with the squishy sidewalls. Regardless, I've never really found it twitchy though. The internet would have me believe that's because I have the rear underbody brace tying everything together. I've never...
Agreed, completely! I've passengered in an M5 driven by an instructor around Goodwood, one of their fleet of M cars.
Sounded amazing, felt incredible, it's just half a ton of, and about £50k more car than I need.
I like small cars 😁
Nope, I've no desire to either. No matter how good it is, I just can't get excited by something that big that weighs 2 tons!
To be fair to the ST I did get a little flare up of wheelspin in 2nd gear, you can see and hear that I had to let off slightly to get traction again.
Aye, the Cup was...
Honestly, I think the power difference between the N55 and B58 would only show itself at silly speeds. I think the book figures are only 20PS apart. I believe the B58 has much stronger low down torque which might give it a slight edge in day to day driving.
I've also heard the N55 135i sounds...
Another look back here, but at all the cars in which I've recorded the dials as I've gone from zero to 100 mph...contains a very good performance by the Clio 172 Cup!
