I was super cautious knowing that, as on my first time out at Goodwood, I could ruin the day if I went too hard on them. I am thinking of some better pads next time out although I'll probably just drop them in for the day and then swap back to road pads immediately after. That way I could go for...
Somehow, yesterday, we ended up with a day exactly as above, broken cloud, sunshine, and not one single drop of rain. We were lucky, very very lucky.
Thoughts after my first time on track in the dry with the LSD? HUGE fun!
It might be soft compared to more track focussed things, but the 140...
I spent today getting ready for Bedford on Monday. Car status is still standard apart from the LSD, ATE Typ200 brake fluid, and a CG-Lock.
And a sh*tload of cameras. And tethers. And power cables. And microphones.
The M535i attracted far more attention than anything else, it was immaculate. I never realised they fitted them with a dog 'box, special car, ///M beginnings!
It's very well setup and Reg is a very tidy driver. I watch my laps back now and can clearly see places that need work, I'm giving a ton of lap time away
Good dry grip, progressive on the limit, some comedy moments under braking as the car squirms on its carrier bag sidewalls. I've not taken it out in the wet, but on the road they have immense grip when things get slippery.
I'm going to go for Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSports next time, they have...
Forgot to say, when I drive it, he's going to be behind or in front of me driving my 140 with a camera in the front/rear tow eye mount. So we'll get to see just how they compare.
Also, he's just had it MOTd, and it's done only 95 miles since the test last year. I'll be doing at least half his...
I had a passenger ride in this thing today.
Initial thoughts as he got going was that it seemed quite softly sprung, then we got going and the firmness was there.
Suspension and body control seems really good, damping was superb.
Did it feel old? Nope. Not at all, the interior clearly has the...
At Goodwood I pay £200 ish for a full day.
I'm at Bedford in a couple of weeks time and it's barely £100 for the full day there.
That's for my 140 valued at £16k. Double it for something worth £30k.
I'm not a heavy user myself...what's hopeless for many is perfectly adequate for me!
I have no first hand experience of either of the 4s... but all the reviews of the 4A thus far make a point that the battery is bigger than the 'flagship' 4 battery.
That'll be why then. the 4 XL was woeful. The 4A has a bigger battery that has less work to do...hence the full day without issue.
I've been reading more on the 4A and watched a few other first impression videos. Love it. As a diehard Google device Android user that's decision made for me.
I'll be having a Pixel 4A when they're available, it seems to be the prefect blend of everything for me.
One lens that does everything really well. That'll do. Fingerprint sensor exactly where I've been used to it for the last 5 years. Yup. Many many many more years of unlimited full resolution...
This, is everything. Get out there and drive it hard, like really hard.
Below 5k, if you're used to diesel or a more modern turbo petrol engine, is not a fun place to be.
