A couple other things to note...
Screen size, compared to the 2XL it's barely noticeable that this one is 0.2 inches smaller.
Speakers; one front facing, one down facing, doesn't seem to compromise the audio and there's a lot more 'bass' from the 4A too.
Otherwise, and having done a straight...
Very similar to my Pixel 2 XL. Apart from the fact that it's significantly smaller, noticeably lighter, and the battery now lasts a whole load longer. The camera is fantastic as expected.
Driving it like I stole it for real 😝
Watching these runs back over and over again as I have been for the last few weeks, I realise how much time I left out there. There is definitely an overall win in the car, and me, if I can read the course a little better.
Ah, right.
Because accountant, and not a heavy phone user.
5G will do nothing at all for me, I don't need the latest greatest chipset, I just want something with a half decent camera.
That the 4A has such as great form factor, and enough inbuilt storage to properly make filming on the fly...
Waited?
I ordered when they opened the books on 10th September, and deliveries were meant to commence on 2nd October. As far as I'm aware they've only just started shipping UK units.
Contract prices? I have no idea at all, I bought SIM free direct from Google.
I decided to leave my 4A order as it was, and this turned up on Saturday...a bit of overkill for Google's 22nd birthday I think, shipping a massive box of air and helium!
First impressions; a screen that's almost the exact same size as my Pixel 2 XL, in a body that feels tiny and light...
Isn't it double Zs that give the -ts-ah sound? Like pizza?
That's how to me it's always been, and after 49 comments on the video from a bunch of enthusiasts no one's mentioned it.
TLDR: meh.
Does anyone have any idea when Google are going to release specs and open the orderbook for the 4A 5G?
I'm thinking for the extra £150 over the 4A I already have on order, it might be a better long term proposition. Not for 5G, more for screen size, processor, Android updates etc.
A couple of updates on my ownership and something significant I've learned that I kind of knew already but it's just been 100% confirmed...
1st, Bedford, a round-up of how it went... there's not much here I haven't said in an earlier post, but thinking about it more, I'm completely amazed it...
Pixel 4A ordered this morning as a replacement for my aging Pixel 2XL.
Genuine excitement, far more than I should be really! Long wait though, won't see it until 2nd October.
Yes it has.
I was thinking of different pads to go with the ATE fluid I currently have, but now I think why bother?!
They wouldn't increase the fun I had, and I wasn't really using all that the standard pads had to give.
A bit more sideways action here as I try to stay with a stage 2 (450bhp) ZF8, and then keep ahead of another with Bilsteins and brake upgrades aplenty.
Upcoming video I'm filming tomorrow...but, spoiler alert, having measured them the day before I left for the circuit, and then last weekend (a week after the trackday) I can report I had precisely no wear at all on the fronts, and 0.6mm lost from the rears. Genuinely, when I say no wear on the...
Relaxed.
Open pit means track time when you choose, instead of having to keep your car moving in a queue or else go to the back and wait 45m to get back out again.
Also, far far busier, and a lot less strict with the marshalling.
We're all going back at least once next year, I'm up for a...
I tried convicing my wife earlier this would be a good C-Max replacement. Told her it would retain a lot more value, and would probably get quite close to the 58mpg we currently get.
She was having none of it.
Sorry.
Exactly. F*** wearing a full face helmet in a closed cockpit car, it's not a competition, it's a social event.
Boots? For me, I have a lot going on down there so want to feel exactly what I'm doing. Plus my normal H&T on the road is to roll off the side onto the throttle so any shoes will do...
