Nah, if ure patient good ones do come up, Jon G's went for <£4k and a Scottish polishing enthusiast also paid similar for one recently as well. Both had belts/dampers done and lots of other standard CS maintenance. Its if you have to rush to buy that prices go up.
Id assume that if you paid £5k now, you'd lose a grand on it. Spending £4k max is the way to limit your depreciation imho. They are worth £3k in bits, so nice ones wont drop too far below £4k i dont think.
Strange that you say that. I'm on my 3rd Trophy now and wouldnt even consider bothering with a 182. Considering all the 'mods' that you'd end up doing to the 182, you might as well just buy the better car in the 1st place.
Looking at where you went, im surprised you didnt step on a needle or 5. In da Ghetto. Although tbf, most of Scotland is like that iirc.
Were you trying to pick up posh 5luts in Weybridge then? They love a mid-engined car around here, although more Italian than French usually.
lol. Swop it for the Abarth and a grand?
Trophy is now sat outside Budgie's house, awaiting the fitment of Nick's new front hubs/rear disc to cure the wheel bearing noise (think its the left front, but just gonna do the lot anyways), & some DS2500 front pads that Vish had lying around in his...
The RC5+'s take a lot more abuse, ie will not fade, ever. Whereas the DS2500's will eventually.
Both fine from cold, but the RC5's dont have anti-rattle springs so move around in the caliper quite a bit & irritate you after a while.

RC5+ are pretty much the best daily/track pad imho, DS3000/RC6 just eat paint/wheels/everything. That do rattle though, which does get on my nerves a tad. DS2500's are pretty decent however, its what'll be going on the T for Bedford, mainly as its all i have lying around at the mo.
And yet ive done the same track, with the same brake setup, in a lard ar5e Trophy and had no issues with fade at all day. In fact, i spent so much time on track that i cooked the power steering pump & alternator, but not the brakes lol. Have you done the same trackday with the Willwoods yet out...
Yeah, there is that. But im now in a situation where our rent is obscene, & whilst Sarah has the money sat in her bank account for a deposit, its very much me holding up proceedings now. Ive delayed the inevitable as long as i can really :o
Yeah should do, all you'd need would be say a Gti leather interior/doorcards and then perhaps 10 minutes of coding in VAGCOM for the airbags. Makes a massive difference to the interior as well!!
Ha ha, i had been buying the suspension parts over time tbh, so the only thing i paid for at the...
I've owned/driven various sets of Spax VSX, PSX & RSX over the years, but not the Clio ones, hence why i never actually comment on what they are like specifically - ive already mentioned further up that id still like a go in one with them on. Afterall, i did consider them last year! But only on...
Yeah i did, as i couldnt get KonigSports/Koni fronts to fit the Trophy, but i decided to simply go for a something that i knew i liked instead, ie H&R (having used Bilstein on all my other french tat). I was very keen to try the Spax (still am tbh, unbiased view and all that), but didnt think...
Firstly, its not bullsh1t, its a synopsis of 9 years worth of ClioSport suspension discussion.
Secondly, WTF are you talking about, Danny saw a gap in the market and filled it perfectly, i would have done exactly the same lol.
If k-tec hadnt taken 3 years to not sort out the Bilstein 182...
As Chip says really.
ClioSport is one of those places were products/tuners have a lifecycle, where someone 'cool' uses them and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. A short while later, someone has an issue, all hell breaks loose and the product/tuner become a thing of hatred.
With suspension...
