I dunno about that, managed to blag 3 hours from work, & just got back ;)
Found the problem however. Not only were the rear bearings both rather goosed, but the hub nuts were only on finger tight FFS. The person who last changed the rear discs also chose to use the brake spacer things on the...
Cheers Oli, although knowing my current luck with clio's, it'll probably expire whilst im driving it lol.
Just gonna cruise about in the R32, not drive like a loon as the tyres/brakes/fuel are too expensive :o
Will be nice to see how it pulls above 90 tbh as thats the quickest ive been in it...
Well its not the front left.
F*cking car, everything seized to hell, & most of the nuts/bolts were knackered as well. Gonna have to bail on using the Trophy now as i need to replace the balljoints as the nuts were cross-threaded, also the pinch bolt on the hub wont tighten properly so its a...
So which bearing are we betting it will be?
Ive got 2 x 182 cup front hubs and both rear discs from Nick to fit, but id rather not have to change all four if i can help it.
Im begining to think that the little ginger man i employed to do the job just didnt want to get cold changing the bearing outside ...
I'll do it tonight, sure Sarah wont mind, its only Valentines day lol.
Symptoms:
Humming from 30-75 where its loudest, stops at 80
Stops when i apply any lock to the left
Does it in gear, or in neutral with clutch in
Sounds like its coming from the front of the car
First thought was a wheel bearing (& what i was told was the issue on purchasing), but we checked...
You're doing it wrong ;) Both Gally, Stan & myself have bought Trophy's (all for less than £4k, decent) within the past 2 weeks lol.
H&R's are fixed, but tbh, unless you really know what you are doing, which most on here dont, there is no need for adjustability imho. The H&R's do suffer from a...
Nothing wrong with H&Rs on a track car. I fitted them to the Trophy for a change, & that did nothing but get spanked on track.
Also, uve been looking for a Trophy for a week lol, theres about 8 for sale at the moment iirc.
No point in fitting ducting whatsoever imho.
By removing the fog lights/arch liners, the air will go over the brakes anyways, it doesnt need directing.
Never actually got them fitted im afraid, bought them solely for Llandow, then it was so wet i didnt bother fitting them :dapprove:
Did anthracite:
Then Nick did white(ish):
For whats its worth, i think they would have looked lovely, although i did have a habit of doing things just to go...
They do look nice tbh.
Although hand on heart, having had both (along with PR1.2's, PR1.3s, Valver wheels, OZ F1's & TSW Venoms), i still prefer the look of the Turinis.
If theyre the 2118s that steviant had off me, they were powdercoated in an Aston Martin bodyshop & the finish is very good. Tom@JMS had them done by Ollie82 at his old work for the racecar.
The news about the breathalyzers is interesting, but this news: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=25&t=1248565&mid=70527&nmt=Mazda+787B+back+at+Le+Mans is fapping awesome.
Nom
For me, a hot hatch is all about the most fun, for the least £££'s. The 1*2 delivers in this respect, hence why im on my 3rd Trophy, 4th 182 and 5th 1*2. Im not currently using it as a daily however, which is probably why i still love them soo much lol.
I owned a 197 Cup for 3 weeks and whilst...
