There are race engines (off the shelf parts built up), & there are RACE engines (bespoke parts, designed & made, then built up) though, Sandy is the latter.
From reading a couple of the chaps posts, i dont think he wants to drop £10k on an engine, he also mentioned k-tec, which suggests Sandy...
He's more of a race engine designer tbh, wouldnt classify him as just a builder lol.
For a Williams i'd be looking at their forum tbh, www.nearlyallrustedawaynow.com - probably far more info about them than on here ;)
KW V2's use Koni adjustable dampers, ie the same as FK KonigSports ... but the latter are half the price ;)
I'd stick with the Koni(gsports)'s tbh, ClioSport is still the only forum in Britain where Spax are treated with any kind of respect lol.
When the rear end's loose, the car's fast. Loose is fast, and on the edge of out of control.
Great video btw, reminds me of the old Trophy with a borked rear damper ...
Yah, daft from a financial perspective, but necessary from a conscience one. I'd like to think that if you buy a car from me you know its been looked after properly, plenty of ex-'Sir_Dave' owned cars on here would testify to that i hope :o
So on Saturday, the final pieces of the R32 jigsaw were put in place at AKS Tuning in Bedfordshire, mainly to solve the rattly front ARB, but also to tighten everything up at the front end, reduce understeer and generally make it a much nicer car to drive.
Subframe, wishbone, ARB all off -...
Pm Nick172Cup, he has a 182 gearbox in the shed doing nothing. Nowt wrong with it either.
In case you dont want the hassle of rebuilding your current one & having the car off the road that is.
In my favourites on IE (http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=263402) along with www.realoem.com.
The US BMW forums are far better for technical info than the UK ones btw.
BMW geek :o
Lovely car Jon, does need MV1's though!!
Re: the autobox, it is perfectly matched to the engine imho, you simply waft around at 2k revs on a wave of torque, lovely way to travel. Whack it into Sport mode and it picks its heals up a little bit more, then manual mode is useful if you want to...
Same. Loking forwards to seeing this looking immaculate tbh. Bout time you bought one though Gally. Hope i was of some use, despite only being able to communicate with you via text due to the language barrier.
I've noticed that as i have a search set up for red 200's lol. If it had Recaros i probably would have asked you to go & look at it for me!!
Whose T you buying, pm me if you prefer ...
Haldex 4wd, so rears only kick in when the front detects slippage! The Haldex controller that im fitting makes them kick in much sooner however. Be aware that on the Mk4, a lot of the cam chains are now stretching/snapping so that is most definately something to read up/consider - R32oc is good...
The only way an R32 will do 40mpg is down a big hill, at 50mph lol. Mine averages 27-29mpg if i sit at motorway speeds of circa 75-85. It will do over 30 if i try hard, but i cant really be bothered to go that slow to save 10p a journey tbh. Around town, ie my current commute, its plummeted to...
