A non-clio place: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?505575-few-problems-just-had-my-car-itb-d&highlight=mtech
Shows why correct research into your chosen tuner is a wise idea BEFORE you purchase.
For reference, if you are looking for a cheap base for a track car, i will gladly remove the Recaros/Turinis and lower the price accordingly. That would give you a Trophy for less than £2k, but you would need to bring your own seays/wheels to take it away on.
Sod that, they are daft money. Over the one ive bought they have an extra 50bhp (not exactly hard to get), an LSD, two less seats and a silly bodykit. Yes, there is a certain price to pay for exclusivity, but not an extra £9k lol.
Its called the filter of death for a reason lol. Guppy's ITB'd shed that we broke had a similar one on it and it took an age to remove all the cr4p from the inside of the trumpets. Not sure what was more average, that or the 'loom' that was on it :headno:
Will put some more detail/pics up when i collect it on the 9th March, but essentially:
'52 plate, 64k miles, full BMWSH, Dark Silver, Chili/Visability packs, black roof & mirrors, electric pan roof, full leather, facelift front xenons, 3 spoke steering wheel & 17" bullet alloys (inc. newish...
Always good to catch up on trackdays!! Roll on the next one ...
Wont be after a PH1 however, ive put a deposit on something else that i can use for everything instead ;)
Clio sized, just a bit more 'posh' in the eyes of my boss lol.
Yup, we set them at the same height as Sachs/Sportlines & they were very good imho. Same dampers as the Bilsteins, different springs as far as im aware? You drove it on the Sachs at Bedford Nick, and yeah, as you say, even then it would quite happily keep up with caged/stripped/sticky tyres...
Nah, they have proper ones as well, just the holes in the floor are closest to our tents.
Personally, i prefer to walk to the disabled/ladies ones and have a sh1t in comfort.
Looks like a bit of a bargain: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/renault/renaultsport-clio/renault-clio-x65-182-trophy/1123518
Previous owner well known on here iirc.
;)
This is ClioSport Nick, people dont consider their inability to drive, they just fit spaffy coilovers and R888's to go fast.
Bilsteins are epic, id gladly fit them to a 182.
You could be purple for all i care lol. It looks stereotypical at the moment, in the way that Rob looks like someone who designs things, & Luke looks like a gay. From memory, Luke isnt gay, but he still wears a silly hat. Robs just trendy iirc.
Could have guessed that from the wheels and black grille lol. Either there or Hounslow/Bradford/Slough ...
Looks lovely though, although i prefer the standard 19" wheels.
Main reason for purchase was the Bedford trackday tbh - was informed on the R32oc that in one track day, the Golf would use the following:
Both front tyres - £300
Front discs/pads - £300
That, combined with the promise of 6mpg and insurance for the day at £85, suggested it was probably cheaper...
I know, tis a great car :dapprove:
Nah, have always got away with it before, but got a right sarky comment about it the other day, which i took as code for 'you aint using that thing for work' lol. Wont be buying a 330, have already put a deposit on something that whilst older, is ok...
Cant use it for work FFS, so now rather predictably for sale: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?685264-55-Plate-182-Trophy-£2-995-ono&p=9364666#post9364666
