Properly hit and miss.
Sometimes you'll be lucky and it'll drive alright after. Others, it'll drive like a bag of s**t.
Tread carefully for the first few drives.
No need for spring compressors mate.
As said, standard top mounts are 21mm.
Take it to a garage, and get them to loosen 'em with a buzz gun. I've had two top splines split on me before doing it by hand.

You can have a 20k miler which hasn't ever had a cambelt done/regular servicing, etc.
I personally like that people like yourself shy away from high milers. Makes them cheaper for me!

I'd have no problems buying a Cat C/D if the repairs were of a good standard, and it was cheap enough. None whatsoever.
When you see how much some dealer parts are, it's no wonder cars are deemed uneconomical to repair!

Irrelevant. Any JC5 box will bolt on. Only the ratios that differ, and the speedo sensor, etc.
