I'll be the first person to take the piss out of Tom and James, but with the RS2, i can't fault the results.
Just keeps pulling and pulling. It's almost like the 5k kick's been moved to 3k, and keeps on like that until it hits the limiter.
It'll fit fine.
Not sure on the exact ratios, but i don't see that it'd be much if any.
I fitted a 172 cup box to my Ph1 172, and barely noticed anything.
Whilst the peak figures are there or there abouts, look how smooth the power/torque lines are on the JMS graphs! Almost like they've been drawn with a ruler!
All 1*2 boxes will fit your 182 no problems.
The only thing that varies is the ratios, and Ph1 172 boxes have a mechanical speedo sensor, but just ignore it and fit it anyway. (:
Most people have either left the window motors in, or gone down the polycarb route.
Not sure if there are any boggo spec Clio Mk2's which had mechanical windows?
Offer still stands, mate. I'll bring some tools over and remove the box at yours, or you can leave it on my driveway if needed.
Chuck me some beer money and we'll have it back in no time.
Re: Rebuilt gearbox starting to crunch into 3rd after c.100 miles
To align the linkage, i put it in fourth, get someone to hold the gearstick there, loosen, let it sit nicely, then tighten up.
Done it a few times, and always worked perfectly for me.
