I've had quite a few owners contact me saying they've also had the turbo oil pipe banjo pipe seeping a litle oil so I'm expecting/hoping that's what's causing the oil loss...I'll have that confirmed this week.
I also spent a good session today just driving the car really really hard and, much...
Was that a click-bait thumbnail and title? I have a boost leak and an oil leak that suggests my engine has a problem...I thought it was pretty accurate!
The news is...there isn't any, yet.
The HG oil I saw, looking at the pictures I've been sent from other owners, does seem to be the norm...
Technically I don't have to let them sort it out...I can just reject the car.
The first engine went pop within six months of delivery, I gave them a chance to fix my car, and now 10k miles later this engine still isn't right. From day one in exchange for my hard earned they have given me a...
They didn't do anything to it as it was a complete factory supplied engine, turbo, clutch, and intake manifold included.
I hope it's something simple. Mind you, I'll take another engine so long as they give me a fresh 5yr/100k warranty on it.
It's going in on Monday for them to give it a visual once over. The tech they and I want to work on it is unavailable for two weeks after that.
It drives just fine, MPGs are where they should be, it feels punchy enough, but it's weeping oil from the very edge of the head gasket. Does that mean...
It was nice to meet a few new faces on Saturday, thank as always to Tim for organising.
My slightly odd dyno figure doesn't, at first glance, seem to be boost related so I'm booked in to Ford on Monday for them to have a look at it.
I think that I may well have found a new way to break the...
This is the key thing...I can say for certain mine has never done it...so if when I drive their car I can't get it to do it, and they can, it boils down to one factor only...
In other news, rain stopped me getting any external driveby exhaust footage of the M400...but I did grab this after I'd finished getting all the static shots.
No matter how much I like this I just can't do it to my car...I grew tired of the exhaust on my MR230 Fiesta ST pretty quickly and this...
They're getting longer...we had a lot to cover in this one, Mountune M400, front LSD, real-time damping controller, short shifter, braided lines, blah blah blah etc.
I'm tempted by the DSC controller...which goes against my 'keep it standard all its life' promise to myself. Annoying.
This is kind of what I think but knowing how the RS's RDU works there could be more to it than that...
In a straight line, hooked up and with no traction event the RS is FWD. A traction event up front, or asking for power when cornering shuffles power to the rear and it's juggled left and right...
I have the gear S3...how is the HR monitor gash on it? I can't fault it...it's reliable and accurate...and as a device does enough of the things I want one to do.
Here's a (for me) quick one on something that I'm very sceptical of...more than a few owners have claimed it to be so bad that they've sold their RS as they considered it dangerous and undriveable.
LOL, as if! Having said that I'm hitting an average watch time of circa 60% even on my more recent longer output (the Fiesta ST comparison was 34 minutes) so allowing for those that click off immediately, that's a fair amount watching it right to the end.
That astounds me...but it's enough...
Ah, I've never really ventured into the mk2 side of the forum and just tend to skip over threads that are mk2 only
We did talk about the tyres (we both had the EXACT same rubber, we talked about tuning, we talked about 'box feel, steering feel, exhaust sound, practicality and so on...this is...
Consider yourself lucky it's only that, before I got brutal with the editing my first draft was almost an hour and a half long, so get comfortable, grab a beer, and watch it ?
It was only when I was filming them side by side in the paddock that I realised just how tame my car is. Apart from...
After a year of trying I finally got to have a go in one, what a thing they are...I can see why there's so much love for them...and also why mk2 owners tend to not love the mk3 LOL
Mostly as said already above, settings wise I'd go with;
One touch operation
Auto-orientation
1080/25 (only because it massively helps hardware cope come editing time plus it looks fast!)
Angle? Wide? Normal? Medium? Superwide? That depends entirely on where you're mounting it...trial and error...
