Got the car back from being painted and got the cage back at the same time from being powder coated.
Conservatory starting to look like Safety Devices warehouse with x2 full cages in there.
Got the rear door cards trimmed round the cage brackets and riveted them in. Got the rear loom...
Got the car back with its cage fitted, it does need to come back out to paint the inside next week but all the welding is done including the harness plates.
I'll get it out tomorrow and give it all a clean up and stock some primer on the bare metal. Removed the rest of the brackets too...
Still waiting for it to come back from paint, should be tomorrow hopefully and I can start building it back up.
In the meantime made a blanking panel for the radio hole in the dash.
Will house the electrical extinguisher box and internal button + the battery isolator controls. (This pic is...
Got it scrubbed up under the bonnet. Happy with all the paint, plastics tanks and pipes it's just the alloy bits that look grubby. Any tips short of painting them or having them vapour blasted maybe.

It had a yozza on that I let the previous owner keep, I have a mint oe back box I just can't find a decent or centre so just went for a silenced Scorpian.

It is gallys old one, I bought it off my mate Adam who has had it for 3 years. He bought it from @Chi in part ex for my old black R26 that Adam bought from me! It's #321, my previous trophy was #323.

With all race cars being in the capable hands of other people this weekend decided to drag the Trophy out from where I've been hiding it. Plan was to give it a good clean inside and out and do a few jobs. No sooner had I washed it, it chucked it down!
Had also planned to fit my new Scorpian...
That's not confirmed though is it? It's only an advisory reg currently, tow hooks on both sides of the car etc? I looked for the type mentioned by the msa but could see anybody selling them so will cross that bridge when the reg is enforced.
Russ
Nick said they don't fit a 182 as the hub protrusion is bigger if that's what you're getting at Rob, they're 60.1mm internal and external so fit everything like the standard hub/wheels.

Bonnet catches tonight, got the aero catches finished, much prefer doing them on fg/carbon panels than steel.
Got them measured up and marked out.
Hole cut on drivers side ready to fit
Fitted
Got the extinguisher positioned and the holes drilled before it gets painted inside.
The...
They're not solid and contain no spherical bearings they're still damped and bushing materials are allowed to be swapped for polyurethane. Doesn't say anything at all in the regs specially for engine/gearbox mounts and it's not like it's a performance improvement, it's a reliability improvement...
Had some spare time tonight to do a few bits, Paul's 197 has gone to have the interior painted so can crack on with the 172.
Wanted to get some unfinished jobs done under the bonnet so started of relocating and fixing the standard ecu in place. Decided it was neatest on the side of the strut...
@loggyboy What ever series you choose there'll always be a class to suit in the tricolore trophy if you want to do a one off race or whatever. However a few guys have done that and ended up staying as its so friendly and good fun. Especially coming from the 182 series as its getting a reputation...
Not done a lot as I've been too busy with Paul's 197. Had a delivery today though. No prizes for guessing what it is!
Great service from Graham at @markfishy thanks.
My welder is going to fit it next weekend hopefully and I can get it all painted and built back up.
Russ
Been getting the interior ready for paint this weekend, removing all the sound deadening and giving it a general clean up. Still need to get the glue off.
Half Filled a carrier bag and I'd say there was at least 5kg in there.
Had a root around under the bonnet and started removing the...
The plan is to build a full M3 touring with the Beemer, I love E36's even with 170bhp and an auto box!
The van is purely for towing the race car and sleeping in while racing. Have a new transit for 'proper' work.
Russ
Sick of this weather, everything's filthy and it's only light for 35minutes a day in Cumbria this time of year so managed to get my van and car washed today, didn't get a chance to wash the Mrs' Beemer so I'm
In the bad books!
Van.
And my Beemer.
Excuse the 'stance' there's an engine...
Pictures are horrendous but cage is done. Just have the seat mount alterations to do and it's finished. All the brackets are removed, dash frame modified and harness eyelet plates fitted.
Excuse the lack of door bars, pointless putting them back on as the whole thing is coming out to be...
