Forgot to mention, managed to get a genuine Cup Racer rear spoiler from a friend.
It just needs painted along with the wheels to match all The grilles/trims which are ready now.
Just off to check on the cage in a minute.
Russ
Looks like there's been a delay with the cage from safety devices so won't have it for another week at least. Not a major issue as I've got enough to do with @paulrs4 and @Apg100 cars here!
Russ
Guess we'll see! Not seen a 197/200 run in Class F yet but in theory they'll be pretty even. 197 might lose out in a straight line to a 172/182 but they're quicker in the corners for sure.
Russ
See my other thread on here for our production spec 172 Cup. Going for a multipoint safety devices bolt in cage with all the options, rear X, X dour bars and tunnel brace. Cheapest place is through Mark Fish have a look in the group buy section.
Russ
Why track day trophy? Quite a lot of us on here are involved with the TARC Tricolore Trophy for French hot hatches, plenty of classes to cover various modifications and a great bunch to race with, definitely worth checking out.
Russ
He has a little standalone heater to demist. That standard blower unit wasn't working by the way it was just still under the scuttle. Not sure how he's managed without heated screen/demist all this time!
Russ
As promised just some pics and details on a 197 we're doing for a fellow Tricolore Racer for the coming season.
Original plan was to just finish off the build, some loom tidying, extinguisher install etc but the original builder has run out of time so I've got the full job to do.
As its...
Haha couldn't really throw this together and expect people to want to hire it from me! Looking forward to see how it goes compared with yours Rob.

Isolator is the armtech one mate, came from my other car, they're the only one I use now after having the cartek one fail on me.
You'll see when you take the ignition barrel out the 'pin' that sticks out when the key is removed. Take the shroud off the bottom, think it's just 2 screws and you...
Couldnt be bothered to start scraping sound deadening off and taking brackets off today so decided to do the easy stuff first, fitting all the shiny bits.
Got the oil cooler fitted under the front bumper bar and tidied some bits up under the bonnet, removed the carbon canister and wiring...
Yeah I had to do the same to mine. Literally just made a template and cut them out of some 3mm sheet steel iirc. Would take any fabricator minutes and then it's just a case of dressing back the strut tips and welding them on.
Russ
Got all the wiring done now and it still works lol.
Got the battery and cut off installed yesterday too. All tucked away in the scuttle.
Cutoff and extinguisher buttons mounted and wired.
Extinguisher nozzle fitted and piped.
Aerocatches have turned up so gonna try and fit them...
Paul's one is the 'full' bolt in cage as used in the michelin cup road car series, guessing that's the 17 point one, not had a good look, very comprehensive anyway and looks time consuming to fit as the oe dash bar needs modified and it comes with plates to weld back on to it etc. will start a...
Cage for my car is coming from
Mark Fish, safety devices bolt in with double door bars, rear 'X' and tunnel. brace. The safety devices cage for Paul's car came from Glen. Check Corby Motorsport for listed prices.
Russ
It is. Paul's mate Glen was meant to be doing it from Revolution in Newcastle and I was just going to tidy the loom up and do the battery and cut off + extinguisher etc.
Glen has run out of time with work etc so I need to finish the whole thing, the only thing that's been done really is most of...
Like Tomo says you've got to have a logical approach, it's easy for me as I'm an electrical engineer by trade but if you're careful there's a lot wiring you can strip from the oe loom on a track/race car.
Russ
Got some wiring done today, it's 75% complete. Everything behind the dash is done, airbag wiring removed, all redundant circuit wiring removed, audio, electric windows, mirrors, central locking and alarm all gone. Just finishing the rear loom which won't take long then a couple of bits to strip...
It should also be noted that I've currently got a customers 197 cup here to fully prep for class F as well. Was meant to just be to finish off a few bits but it's turned into a full build from a road car. Might put a separate thread up for that.
Russ
Cheers Dave, to be fair there won't be anything fancy or ground breaking on this one, should be tidy though. I'll be back in something soon to give your 5 a run!
@Mash. Electrics wise it'll just be a careful tidy up, removing unused stuff and associated wiring as the fuse box/uch abs standard...
So my much loved class A 182 has now gone to its new home and should be back on the Tricolore grid in 2016.
This thread is for one of my new race cars. (New class A car thread still to come) this is primarily for class F in the Tricolore Trophy which is production based so limited...
Well the car went to her new home today, she'll be back out on the Tricolore grid in 2016. Removed all the bits off it that I'm keeping or that I'd sold and removed the numbers and stickers and gave her a final wash.
This will probably be the last update on this thread. I need to start some...
It is a sorted car James just want to build something else, have raced it for 2 seasons and know to go any faster id need to spend substantial money on it.
The honest answer is i dont know whats next, went to pick up my new shell on saturday and turned out to be not as described! Have...
Shame, race 1 was the better race, just didn't have the pace in race 2 to stick with the front 2.
@.Stevo.C. Not sure about Hughes 306 that I got past at lodge but even that's a little quicker than mine in a straight line. The other one allegedly has an ex super touring spec mi-16 based motor...
Thanks mate, Sorry I wasn't around, won't have been far away, probably stealing food off @Tony Hunter for my little one! Yeah new car will be run in the series too.
It makes ~220bhp and ~180lbft.
