No James it's not. Obviously the oil out the sump was pretty shiny but no big bits of swarf in the top end. Russ

Had the head off and apart from 2 possible bent inlet valves that arent sitting properly it's mint, valve heads or piston aren't even marked, plugs, rockers and cams all fine. Russ

That's not gone well! Conrod has twisted/snapped. Not sure why, need to get the head off and investigate but guessing it'll be trashed anyway. Russ

Right! If you hadn't gathered I blew my spare engine up after 3/4 lap of cadwell park in qualifying last weekend. Shame it had to happen on a race weekend and before it had even done a lap but so be it, I've done well with reliability Since I built the car so hopefully my run of bad luck is out...

Car is spanner checked and ready to go after being on the ramp tonight. Had a short drive in it aswell and feels exactly like it did before engine wise. All ready for cadwell tomorrow/Saturday. Russ

It seems fine James and I don't have time now before cadwell. In theory it should be ok as they're both standard engines with the cams swapped over and timed up the same. Head etc is untouched and all the bolt on bits are the same. Time will tell! Russ
