If it's protected properly you should be able to dry it using a hose pipe. Then mop up what little is left by PATTING a good quality drying towel over it.

I think that because they're so old now, the chances that one (or more?) of the owners have abused them and then it means later down the line they fail catastrophically.
Mine was a completely standard U.K. Car when I got it so I guess nobody abused it because a BMW 320d is faster! Lol

I think the reason I've kept mine so long is because it just seems to be bullet proof. Apart from consumables and 1 service, I haven't spent anything on it in 2 years.

I work in a bodyshop so I see refurbished painted wheels daily. We also use a sub contracting company (Phoenix alloys) to do our powder coating and our diamond cutting.
For me, powder coating process is a lot better. Dipped, stripped, blasted, oxidized, powder primer, wet paint, powder...
195/50/15's are cheap. (Assuming you have a mk2?)
Toyo T1R's are crap.
Rainsport3's are good but don't last long.
