Hi all,
Managed to damage the thread on one of my track rod ends when getting it out yesterday and now the nut won't go back on.
Are the euro car parts ones any good or is it worth shelling out for genuine ones?
Also, is it ok just to do one side or should I change both while I'm at it?
Thanks
It's weird cos it doesn't do it all the time and tbh it isn't the worse thing in the world, it just bugs me a bit. If it was the retainer, what's involved with sorting it? Big job? Noticed a leak from the gear selector but, from research, this seems pretty normal.
Without hijacking the thread, I've got a similar sort of problem on my 182.
It's quite hard to explain but when changing from 1st to 2nd, sometimes it kind of pops out when you are just moving it out of 1st. Heard of something like this before? I've got a modified scenic shifter from Ash-B on...
Such an epic car!
Have you tried the Werkstat Acrylic stuff before? Looked awesome on my old Silver Clio. Don't think it's available now, the Carlack stuff has replaced it on Polished Bliss.
Found a video on YouTube which shows how to replace the driveshaft so removing the hub and everything so if I wanted to use a stretchy one I can do that, but if I wanted to get a normal one, how would I get the joint itself off?
Never had any funny noises from it so assume the joint itself is still ok. Gonna drive my GF's car until I can get it sorted though so I don't cause any more damage.
Possible to change the boot to a genuine one with the driveshaft in place then? Or would I need one of these stretchy boots to...
Hi all,
So, knew my nearside/passenger outer cv boot was knackered as a couple of months ago I had to pack a load of grease in as the clip had come loose. I also noticed that it was cracking but not split and didn't look too bad. Fast forward to today when I was under the car doing the exhaust...
I'm going from 16's to 15's, not sure if it's the colour that makes them look bigger but my Silver TD Pro Race 1.2's look a touch too big on my 182 IMO.

There's a few garages in Morley but these are the ones I use. Also been helpful when I've been down, even when I just needed a bolt undoing they've just got it on the ramp and taken it off there and then for me.
If you happen to go down side of Morrisons when in...
I use a place in Morley near work that are pretty easy going. If you called in one day before booking it in, I bet they could tell you whether it was too loud or not for them to pass before booking it in.
