I did it to mine (carefully) and they came up miles better.
You could get some recaro subframes (very expensive new £300 from capital IIRC or try and get some 2nd hand) and fit some Recaro seats from something like a Evo 4, which do flip forward even though they came in a saloon car :S are really supportive but look like the 1990's regurgitated them...
