Trouble is K Tec are £30 more for the springs and £20 more for camber bolts so its £50 more to go to them before yo start looking at labour.
However, if they are worth it, might give them a go. Considering fitting the springs myself though. How difficult is it?
Are these being phased out/replaced by anything?
I know they are getting hard to find due to stock levels following the Tsunami, but they have actually started vanishing from some sites now, rather than just showing as out of stock!
I am looking to get some Sportline Springs and some camber bolts and then get them fitted and the geometry properly setup. Does anyone know places near Southampton that are good for this? K Tec are not far from me, but they are by far the most expensive for both parts and labour I have found.
I was thinking about running one to a recorder in the glovebox. That way you could power it from the cigarette lighter. I would like to see how they are mounted in the grill/diamond/wherever.
I can remember a while back seeing a picture of a guys Clio where he had mounted a bullet camera in the centre of the front diamond. Looked great. If anyone has any more details or pictures I would be very interested.
Cheers
I wont need (and cant afford) to replace the tyres on my 15's untill my next trackday in a few months time. I expect T1Rs will be like hens teeth by then :(
Any suggestions other than T1Rs? Or should I just order 8 on a credit card and hope they appreciate :)
My 16" sidewalls squidged so much I got the edge of the rim to touch the ground! And that was at 36psi hot!
But like I said, I would have just gone T1R's, but they are getting more expensive and rarer.
Extreme cornering can cause oil starvation in engines without a baffled sump. Its not going to be an issue in a Clio, it was more of a flippant reply to a recommendation for R888s after specifically saying I didn't want recommendations for R888s.
If the T1R's werent creaping up in price and...
What would people suggest as cheap 195/50/15 tyres for track use, but also some road use as they will be my only set of wheels?
So far I'm looking at:
T1R's - Cheap, but seem to be getting more expensive as stock drys up. I had a set of 16's on at Bedford and the side walls were soft as...
Picked up some after market F1's, but can't find any spigot rings for them. The bore is 73.1, yet the plastic spigots I have don't fit. They are too tall as the bore of the F1's tapers in after about 10mm. Looking at the ones that came on the wheels they need some metal ones with a metal sprung...
Bought one of the stubby ones for a few quid. Looked ok fitted, terrible radio signal though. Found it in the glove box the other day and threw it out.
Theres 2, a gold and a black one further towards the back. Its the black one you need to remove. You can get to it from behind the seats one you take the isofix bar out.
Well, I say 'remove', but its more likely the black one is the one you need to attempt to remove, and end up rounding off...
I thought that too, but it looks like the passenger side bolt is actually meant to be on a bit of an angle.
Rounted of the torx bit in the middle. Mashed 3 knuckes in the proccess and my rear seats are still in :(
The recently released car registration figures from the DVLA suggest more than 172 of these were made...
Or more likely, a number of standard 172s are incorrectly registered.
