Hey chaps, I've been through most of the best photos from yesterday. As I said before, I was there for one main reason, with the guys at burpspeed. So my attention was mainly focused on their car. I did take a few snaps of other cars too, but I can't guarantee I shot every car. If I didn't...
I'll admit mine isnt fully stripped, but it's not too far off either! I have to disagree with those points. It doesn't bother me at all, not even on our euro trip which was over 2000 miles! Ask anyone on the trip, no-one complained about the car at all.
Yes you cant carry passengers....but I...
Quite a variation in those bodies! What would you want it for?
And for the filters...again....want would you want them for? We cant tell you to get a filter without knowing what you would do with it.
You keep forgetting this is a 182 vs 197 AS A TRACK CAR.
Yes I am slightly biased towards the 182, because I can speak from very good experience after what I've done to mine as a track car. But I can't think of a single reason why you would choose a 197 to turn into a track project:
- They are...
I think 2 would be better for the 'between the legs'
I have my lapstrap points on the floor pan, a bit further back to where you have marked 3. Just drilled holes through the floor :)
Ditch the 197, get a 182, or better yet, save more $$ and get a ph1 172.
That will be miles more 'raw' and fun on track than the fat heffer that is the 197.
For me, the only time it gets a bit loud is 70-80+ mph. Around there you do have to almost shout to have a conversation!
I love it though, I can get my bikes in the back, and I can fit all my photography gear in too. Couldnt do that when standard :)
This is what mine is like at the moment: (but the door cards have also gone since the photo)
It's not quite my daily, but I use it a lot. Doesnt bother me in the slightest. Comfort and practicality mean f all to me tbh, hence why I did it....as well as it being a track orientated car of...
I've go no worries anybody knowing the price, it was £1700. That was for the full kit inc top mounts, re-valved, built to my spec, and the whole car corner weighted.
Might be a lot, but I have no regrets. The car handles amazingly well, everyone who has been in the car has commented on it...
