With T1Rs all you'll get is more understeer, which isnt fun. But I can kind of see what you're saying. For me, Clios are built for cornering, and 888s complement that perfectly.
I used my road T1Rs on the ring when we went on our euro trip, they performed very well to my surprise, but I am used to 888s on track.
Out of curiosity, why no interest in 888s or similar?
I do look after my 'wearables'. I do maybe 10 laps, then do a complete lap as a cool down, then come in. Check tyre pressures are ok, have a break for anywhere from 10-20mins, then go back out.
It might be as hardcore as some people on here, but my tyres last a long time. For me, you don't...
I havent read much of the posts in this thread, but the figures in the OP post are WAY out.
888s lasting only three trackdays! WTF! I bought a half worn set of 888s, and done 4 trackdays on them, they have only worn a tiny bit.
If you look after the tyres throughout the day, theres no reason...
I did a couple of trackdays on the OP set-up. Was totally fine on my car.
As for 888s, I have done every trackday apart from the nurburgring on 888s, and I did miss them tbh! Noticeably more grip, and response in the corners.
That's not to say you cant have fun on normal tyres. I did the ring...
Do you know what springs you're running? My ASTs are firm, but I wouldnt say they are crashy etc.
Going from ASTs to KTECs is a hell of a downgrade, just depends on what you want the car for I guess.
Avoid using wide angle if you can. As the people near the edge of the shot will be distorted, and will look really weird.
If you referring to wedding shots (saw your other thread) then flash is a must 90%+ of the time. Learn how to set it up properly ie. using bounce flash, and not direct at...
