Mine have helped me achieve things that I previously couldn't. They do however scratch easy and leave a colour cast (The Graduated filters are Grey and not Neutral).
If your just dabbling they are worth it, anything more serious and I'd say spend money on a Lee Holder + Hi-Tech GND's. Also the...
Thought the name rang a bell, watched this guy on dA for ages, shot some high profile people, makes me want a Leica and some fast glass, oh and some skills. Will have a watch..

18-55 IS is probably the best value walk around, wouldn't bother with the 17-85 IMO, then there is the new EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, worth considering pending reviews and price.

I'm the same, find myself just getting my camera out to help out mates, do product shots etc. In my own time it doesn't see much use, could probably be using the 2.5k I've probably spent on better things at the mo lol

Buying a 16gb and doing a JB over 18 months works out at just over 600 at £9 per month, whether or not that covers any 3g use? Vs 18 month contract which is just over 800 and includes all you need data wise etc. Its not so bad if you plan to rinse the Internet.
The difference is probably a full...
