Mostly casual shooting when I'm traveling light, I love being able to blur a waterfall hand held, shoot in a museum/aquarium/cave without flash or shoot a larger f/number for landscape etc etc.
A few quick examples... f/2.8 ISO 1250, 55m shooting 1/15th, general theory says I'd need at least...
Yup, still got it! Marched all the way around Hengistbury head in Dorset with the lens in MF & hadn't a clue why everything was blurry, first shot ever....
Get the 7D over the 50D if you're shooting sports for its improved 19 point AF. If you like shooting flash the 7D can fire multiple speed lights with no extra gear on the camera. Then it has video, 8fps, better metering etc.
I'd get the 7D if I had the money but only if I had a really good lens...
..So before it begins Happy new year shooters, its been great having this forum here..!
So let the drinks flow...
Damn just seen the liquid competition, to late!! :o
Its not a bad camera but I'd rather spend a bit more and get the 450D with the 18-55 IS lens.
If they can get it from Comet, it also comes with cash back at the moment, which would make it £390.

If they want all the modern gimmicks like...
Ian Kerso, he isn't a store as such but a very trusted importer who uses the Photography-on-the.net forums.
He does have an eBay store, http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/FLASH-CAMERA but its cheaper to go outside of eBay. His rates might not be as good at the moment with the change in interest...
Sounds like a DSLR is the way, find an entry level body like a 450D with kit lens and look for one of the entry level lenses like the Canon 55-200 IS or Sigma 70-300 APO.
A bundle like this is ideal, http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/p-canon-eos-500d-18-55-55-250-twin-is-lens-kit.htm but well...
£80 delivered for the three, theY appear to be very good quality & were a custom size I asked for. There are more prices on the facebook page.
The one on the left was taken with a Canon 40d and the other two a 350d, probably all using a cokin gnd filter, with the two on the left tone mapped in...
Just had 3 of my images put onto 12x8 canvases, very pleased!
Shame I have to give them away as a present for the Mrs!
Anyway, I'd just like to highly recommend this bloke, did a great job!

Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Desert Sandstorm now plays online multi-player death matches, its ok, no counter strike but not bad for a first attempt. This would however be epic with something like Real Racing or Worms.
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Operation sandstorm now has online multi player but my neighbours wireless router wont let me on lol, anyone played it? whats it like? FPS style?
Re: iPhone accessory must haves?
About £11, got mine from an eBay seller in Ireland, much easier than buying from the US.
No screen cover, its not a back case either, its just a strong sticker.
