lol, how is that thing still not buggered!!
Had 6mm on it when i bought the thing, on 103k, in Feb 2011!! Has done 21k and still not knackered :clown:
I'm surprised it lasted that long tbh, i only used half the number plate stickys. Too tight to use a packet on either end :o
I'll be honest, i do utterly adore the car at £85k, but could i justify (even as a millionaire) spending the extra £60k over this: http://www.4starclassics.com/bmw-e30-m3-For-Sale/ - im not so sure.
FYI, i've sat in a very late Sport Evo owned by a lovely chap on PH (even has BMW warranty...
I must admit, i've been swaying towards KW V1's as of late, but these do look like the perfect ride height.
My only concern is that i've never really been a fan of using uprated springs on standard dampers, as they tend to pogo a little - never brilliant for ultimate handling.
Goes off to see...
Re: Ultra Red 200 ordered.
Yeah, removed it via PMS aircon delete kit. Made a big different to 'revability' imho.
Driving pleasure > cold air.
Nah, 197 cup has nothing. Warm air or slightly less a warm air.
In all seriousness, i dont actually think ive used aircon in any of my cars for...
Re: Ultra Red 200 ordered.
Trophy doesnt have aircon. It'll be reet.
M3 is going to Hong Kong as it happens lol ... chap is collecting it today hopefully.
But yeah, hinted at it, want a house though, so highroller spec fleet of BMW's didnt seem that sensible.
Well yeah, quite possibly, especially considering his following statement, which imho, is not wrong in the slightest:
For me, the use of trail braking also enables later braking and a useful increase in weight transfer to the front of the car for improved turn-in. Needless to say, in order to...
That could be quite good for clio's actually. I always find that as i take Graham Hill in 3rd, the clio bogs down a little pulling up the straight to Surtees/McLaren.
With a hairpin there instead, i'll more than likely be in 2nd, which will allow me to be on the power earlier from the 1st apex...
lol. I had the same mentality when speccing a new one up - if you are chucking 20 grand at it, whats another few hundred quid for all the options ... I literally ticked everything :o As such, its rather amusing that i'm ending up with a cup, that doesnt even have aircon !!!
I dunno, a lot of people moan that the 1*2 one is made of french cheese as well lol ...
Agency Transmissions do a roaring trade from people on here!
The 197/200 one clearly isnt brilliant, so im thinking of ways to prolong the inevitable (although the one im buying does have a relatively new...
Surely if you heel & toe on downshifts it will help stop the gearbox was cr4pping itself? Its the synchro that goes iirc.
Bit of mechanical sympathy, etc.
Re: Why did you choose a clio sport??
For the money that they command these days, ie half a bag of crisps and a part eaten Mars bar, they are brilliant fun, relatively practical and cheap to run. Hence why when given the choice between selling my e46 M3 & my Trophy, the latter stayed.
I've had...
Ah yes, but you'll keep it for 5 years.
If mine stays for 12 months ill be amazed - buying new would lose me about 8 grand in depreciation lol.
I have made a shopping list of choice parts already though, i just cant help it :o
Mines 66% there, no aircon, no abs (needs a sensor iirc), but no cable throttle ... yet. Maybe when it gets to 200k.
I'm in a similar boat, the 200, whilst god damn ugly when it 1st came out, has really grown on me. To the point now where i actually prefer it to the 197!! BUT, for me, the clio...
