Replaced the horrible renault squirters - I can actually fill the bottle now without it leaking out the washers iugnore the smudges round it thats just my fingerprints
Cost a couple of quid for some grommits which I got off graham172 from here but I think you can get them at halfrauds...
Thanks you szuechan! :)
Just for everyones info its half price at my halfrauds got 500ml for £3.50 may be worth chekcing if you are in there!
(Was at my local anyway)
Its one of those jobs that actually isnt to hard! what you see is what you got
I hate working under a jacked car on an exhaust rust just drops in your eyes makes the job horrible
No I dont like wearing safety galsses either ;) far to cool for that
are you lowering? the combination of both will make the back end rub i would have thought. But if not they will be fine (they may look a bit silly though)
need confirmation from someone who has done it really.
Looks very pretty but not very effective to get maximum power you need to remove those restrictive bends which (same as the RS) would mean relocating the battery somewhere else.
silicon hose would also be beneficial over SS too
gains will be very minimal to be honest with the above mods just noisier
I dont think they do uprated camshafts for your model whic is genrally the way to go for more power NA without wasting your time on crap
You got a torque wrench homie? because I have a rather strong arm that is capable of tightning to 500 Nm if you need it.
On a serious note I think I'v got one somewhere if you need it. Ill check
You certainly have a point & I'm not going to argue with you because I very much doubt you are wrong - but i still stick with my initial comment of every little helps.
Although it will look pony and trap would foam act as a good insulating agent or would this just keep the heat in? Maybe some...
The most heat will get conducted through the mating surfaces however
Its a case of every little helps in my opinion, not a "oh god I must have got like 15HP dude"
It will be a difficult modification to do a 172 not so hard on a 182. Like I said for what its worth I'll do a write up (when...
Told you lol, What about that red stuff they use to seal the rocker cover? I'm not sure what its called though
OR (mechanics speak up) what about PTFE tape? (You know the stuff to seal compression joints)
Leakdown tests for the win, I had oil in one plug. (ring) Picked up a nearly new 182 engine for 250 quid and can break the old one for parts and make some of the money back hopefully :)
My apoligies, you must have more patience than me! I did attempt mine but it got thrown through the greehouse window.
Do you have pictures of your handywork Dan?
Mines better felix :rasp: hahahaha Mine has writing too!!! No you dont need to undo the coilpack it comes off with it!
Edit: You know I'm joking buddy :) Ill try get my PTFE write up done tonight if I can be bothered!
Come on Dan! Thought you were competant!!
theres 1 2 3 4 5, 5 10ml bolts on the front
1 2, 2 10ml bolts on the back
undo map, temp, coilpack, brake vacuum servo, throttle cable think thats it!!
Edit: Acoustic valve and dodgy carbon canister piece of crap thingy
Id have to agree here with the others eibach or standard its as simple as that. Super low and you need new dmapers too Sportlines will be fine on standard
I had a stab at doing these at the weekend pics and guide etc to follow :)
the finish isnt amazing but its awkward working with PTFE!
I have also noted the points that need to be machined/filed/drilled to make it fit efficiently.
Its good but its a bit expensive in my opinion. Im happy with the cheaper brands myself dont notice a massive amount of difference between them all in all honesty
