engine light would suggest unburnt petrol making it through the zorst i suspect coilpack personally. But as mentioned no use guessing you need to have a look at it really.
Just FYI I bought 5 litres of fully syn 5-40 for £13.50 the other day and the ratings on it are exactly the same as halfords own stuff which is twice the price hmmm...

Without hearing it it be hard to tell what exactly what you mean but saying its down to fuel system sounds like renault blag reason #4, I very much doubt it is but until it actually causes a detrimental effect to the vehicle they wont do much for you unfortunately.

since i picked up a nearly new 182 engine from ebay for £250 you should be able to pick up a 1.2 for about £150 tops - fittings not to bad on these either as long as you have the tools :)
