1.2 16 valve

heya guy's i just bought my first renault its only a 55 plate 1.2 16 valve n i found it to be a gr8 car . one question what simple mods does anybody recomend to spice up bottom end performance a little bit,?? no stupid ideas please as i want to keep it a 1.2, i was thinking of a full s/s decat exhaust system, modified airbox and k&n pannel filter??? would this help??

I DONT WANT TO BE MAX POWERISED EITHER LOL !!!

yep mate a full s/s system, sports manifold and induction kit will help with throttle response
 
gains will be very minimal to be honest with the above mods just noisier

I dont think they do uprated camshafts for your model whic is genrally the way to go for more power NA without wasting your time on crap

wow i like tha lol aint sure if mine got aircon yet lol i gota pic it up friday lol oh yer and i have a set of 195-45-17 alloys up here in renault fittment will these go on without probs?? i dnt have rear passangers.
 
Looks very pretty but not very effective to get maximum power you need to remove those restrictive bends which (same as the RS) would mean relocating the battery somewhere else.

silicon hose would also be beneficial over SS too

yer dont fink it does anything really, looks good and sounds good after 4 grand, not worth what i paid. i only like my little 1.2 cus i can get 48mpg all day long, nearly 500miles on a tank of fuel.

^^ also a heat shield to stop warm air from the engine going back into the filter. an enclosed induction kit would be better

i doubt it does mutch lol but it looks gd anyway i got just a pannel filter planned instead of a induction kit like, anyway about my alloy question?? anybody help me out??

the oil you treat the cone with stops all that, i have it on there from new so thats over 2 years and i have not had 1 problem
 
are you lowering? the combination of both will make the back end rub i would have thought. But if not they will be fine (they may look a bit silly though)


need confirmation from someone who has done it really.

17s will rub on lock and will rub all over when lowerd+will look like a roller skate, 16s max on clios i say

relocated induction kit like above will loose you low down torque, which is what your looking to gain!

i put a full stainless steel system on mine with decat, ITG pannel filter and modified the airbox so it would flow more air and a bigger cold air feed and it was pretty quick for what it was when it was stripped!

the key to making the 1.2's quicker is to loose weight, pile the miles on them (they get quicker with miles) and sort out the suspension and brakes.

my old one had 140k on it and im sure freds was near 100k and both were resonably quick for 1.2's
