If you put that on you may find that the inlet wont mate with the plenum correctly. Benr said to me before that its not really possible on these engine as the gaskets are too thin to have any benefit and if you made it thicker it wont fit. Would be interesting to try although not worth 35 quid imo

Really!! I was always told it was the oil temp, my apoligies for giving out duff info. My redline doesnt rise til the temp gauge hits nominal+about 5-10 mins. Seems strange

You could probably get away with PLASTX by hand but would be hard work. As Richard said you cant make things worse!

Your thinking of the water gauge which gets hotter quicker than the oil i dont believe the limiter is removed til the oil hits 90c

wet sand and machine polish will do the trick

Mine a FF but is insured as a CUP as thats what it says on the V% its all a bit odd... Personally id just do it
