Heavy camera + cheap plastic tripod + wind = :S
Pluss it's more likely to vibrate and still cause camera shake and the way the legs are set up make it hard to stand it on anything other than flat ground.
Yup your going to get lots of get a Canon or Nikon. The cost of high grade lenses and 2x crop sensor in the Olympus E-series is enough to put me off.
I'd go to a store and play with all the cameras in there, also take a look at what lenses you may want in the future and what you want to shoot...
Amen.
And to lighten the mood here's what I found in the garden when not snowing or raining, something a little different, a mini landscape without the sky... not the most 'spring' subject but wanted to capture the little fella emerging from the grass.
Can of worms.
Manipulate to your hearts content, put sh*t in, get sh*t out. Just don't add what wasn't there or what your camera never picked up.
Guess what, the same thing happened in the film days, its nothing new.
May as well restrict gear IMO, its unfair that some of us can manipulate...
Need to update a file, you can download it from the Adobe website I think, afraid I've not got the links to hand...

right, time to have a crack at this one...
p.s. by 'landscape' does that rule out close/up macro of flowers etc?
I recon it'll come in at 250 or a little less to begin with.
I'm now interested in how well the zooms will be, presuming there better than the Bigma how close will they get to primes like the 300 f4 IS, 400 f/5.6 or the 100-400 IS zoom.
Really loving the look of several new Sigma lenses coming out v.soon...
For all the people Nikowned by AF-S, Sigma is giving you a 50mm that'll AF!
50mm f/1.4 HSM

This should be a great walk around lens for us Canon users who can't...
At low ISO you won't notice the difference between entry level and the high end bodies. 400D vs 40D and its near impossible to tell apart, same for D40 vs 400D, its functionality and features that matter as you buy/upgrade.
