You forgot, you will need a decent Cartridge,M/C for that set up, and a phono pre amp. All this will be a bit over his budget!!. Have a look on Head-Fi.org, and see what might be available.
I have the KW Clubsports, and on two occasions, have had the top nut slacking, causing a knocking of the suspension. Easily fixed, tighten the nut back up. Anyone else had this?.
Bonnet vents uncovered for track days, numberplate removed, with holes behind.Cooling now no problem. Vents are not pretty, but have cured any sort of overheating.
Battery moved to boot. Fitted bonnet pins, as bonnet catch/cable was suspect, cable frayed. New thermostat, as other one failed open. Made a cargo net, with yellow stitching to match car colour. ( No rude comments please!!.)Cost around £7, and made to measure.
I do track days with a group of guys, including my son, and I can safely say I am the slowest in the group, so I wouldn't be any good at the drag races, nore would I even want to try.
I had a R26R. A lovely car, but I was putting too many miles on it, so sold for R26,sold that for the Shed. Give me the choice of these, and I would pick the Clio, but nothing wrong at all with the other two. Pay your money, take your choice.
I had an FQ400, running around 600bhp,with many other mods, but never felt it was a keeper. Many cars later I have a Clio, running 320/340, and this car is certainly is a keeper.
I have run cheap tyres on the road,BUT, different ones for track. I have found cheap tyres are quite adequate for normal day use, and that includes frozen/wet/snow covered roads here in N/E Scotland, and NO, I haven't had any accidents running cheap tyres!.

Ive run 888/Eagle F1/NS2r/ and the last track day I did in myR26, I used cheap ( Really Cheap!.) no name tyres, and in the Wet, they were as good as anything I have used. I was the fastest in my group, though admittedly a couple of them were on slicks!., BUT I was very surprised how good they...
On my R26, i have used DS2500,XP8, and DS1.11.These days i only use the DS1.11. a bit of squeal, lots of muck on the wheels, but solid/instant stopping power, no fade.i do experience some glazing, but easily removed.
