Really rubbish? I rated them when I ran my 172 cup. You have to accept there's a fair bit of movement from the sidewalls, but given that, they hang on really well and don't tear themselves apart no matter how much you abuse them or how hot you get them. Another plus is that when they let go...

...then there's also this one, the Tascam DR-05. This one does seem to be the better performer, it's only a few pounds more compared to the Zoom H1, and the Tascam does have a lot more settings you can play with. Having said that, this guy and a few others I've seen all seem to favour/use...

Do you really have to re-buy apps when you change handset? I've had three Android phones and my original purchased apps are still there, automatically downloaded and setup every time I change device. This doesn't happen with Apple? I'm amazed if that's the case.
