197 - 29mpg
182 - 36mpg
Based on my commute to work from when i had both.... with the 182 you could comfortably get mid 30's, even late 30's if not giving it stick... the 197 had no intention of going above 30 even if you drove it like a girl
but the 197 was my favourite
August was the start of when the market was falling apart... I should know cos i just managed to sell my R27 at a cracking price before everyone refused to buy unless you were giving them away...
Trophy's might have been up at £8k but doesn't necessarily mean they were selling for that...
they part repaired it and in the original advert where they tried passing it off as lightly damaged they left the damaged bumper and bonnet but had replaced the rest of the damage.... then told me that the car had hit a traffic bollard which caused the damage
my old one... still doing the rounds trying to sell it.
And it's Cat C by the way....
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=190053 will show you the extent of the damage and whether it was 'light' or not
i'll be in the minority and say the wheels and exhaust are gash... so many better options out there. 10/10 for trying to be different on the wheels though! :)
182 FF's :

£6k or thereabouts will see you good for a 182 with cup packs and average mileage at the moment
Trophy's are going...
January or February next year... those struggling now will be struggling even more after Xmas, plus with an increase in road tax in March, there'll be a few more selling i'm sure.
like you Steve i could buy an R27 and still have a few grand still in the bank as the bottom has dropped right out...
as ian says, prices of all cars have crashed, more so than perhaps many people thought they would.
i sold my R27 and after 10k of motoring lost £2k... but tbh if you plan on keeping the car a long time, that depreciation will even itself out... the current value is only an issue if you find...
yeah but look at it this way - did you pay list price on your 197? I know i certainly didn't, i got a very nice discount.
so then you look at for sale adverts with people doing one of 2 things -
a) selling the car claiming they've paid 'list' price and selling it at close to the discounted...
there's also the fact that when i collected my R27 the tyre pressures were about 6psi over what they should be... when it went in for warrenty work it always came back with over inflated tyres too....
all these posts and still no pictures though
