My GAZ coilover suspension is past it's sell by date, the plan is to change over the dampers front and rear over time. Would the Trophy Sachs rear dampers be worth fitting? A set has come up, my GAZ rears are knocking and need to replace so was thinking the Trophy items might be worth a go, it...
All this is theory and thought i'd bring it up for discussion to see if anyone has attempted trying something out (dam cup pack hubs :D)
So, brackets made up with 60mm spacing, welded on a set of coilovers could be a possibility if the talent and welding skills were at my disposal?
I was looking into carbon bullets, there is a difference between Streamline and Chris's items. I PM'd Chris about the possibility of having the bullets made in carbon with the 2.0 and 16V raised like the OE ones, to which he replied that Streamline actually make them already. Admittedly pricey...
I've not looked at coilovers close up for a while now to see how they set up their negative camber. From what i remember the bolt in the top is a certain shape to allow the top of the hub to be pulled in or out for positive/negative camber, i don't know if they just rely on a different shape top...
I know that cup pack suspension is 60mm with 172/182 RS being 54mm.
My question is, could the hub hole on say a 54mm coilover strut be modified to fit the 60mm hub? Top holes have been elongated on some to give you adjustable camber.
Does say both bottom holes line up and the top be 6mm...
Finally have my RB 182 on the road after 2 months, still needs a couple of tweeks but love driving it, love going past the big shop windows to see the reflection of it :o :D
If the speedo sensor is in the same location as the phase 1 then i changed it from above by reaching down past the exhaust manifold. Unclip the sensor connector, pull the sensor out, fit new.... 5 minute job
Mine did this too, turned out due to water ingress the connector and pins were corroded on the bulb holder. Unclipped the connector off the bulb holder, cleaned the terminals then cleaned the pins on the holder........ Job done, what happened was the loom to the rear light was trapped in the...
Hell that was a nightmare! But yes almost forgotten :D
It will most certainly be looked after, i'll just need a list of products used that keep it nice and shiney :o
I'd also like to say i bought this RB without looking at it, as soon as i saw the ad go up i knew i had to buy it. I felt...
From little of what i know is that it takes the reading from both sensors, the pre cat sensor works fine but with the post cat sensor not plugged in it cant read anything. The data showed a flat line and IIRC left on an open loop, when the car warms up there's no reading and throws up a...
A long story to this but will cut short, i bought the RB off Christopher back in March with 2nd gear synchro gone and a missfire. A 500 mile round trip to Bolton with a stop at BTM to pick up another gearbox and it's back at home. A good friend of mine Matt who rns Codered Motorsport was 1st...
Doesn't the 172 Cup box work with the speedo drive in the box?
I guess it depends how much you love the car to have it fixed. I smashed all the teeth off 5th gear and cracked the gearbox casing on my phase 1 clio 172, i bought another gearbox from Cit-Ren and paid someone £250 to swap them over
I always filled my old 172 with V Power 99 and have started using it in the 182. I never use anything else, IIRC the ECU self reads (someone will come along soon to correct me) but didn't think it would make a difference between 95 and 98RON
Im resisting the temptation took go down the carbon road (in a big way) I don't want to go OTT. Maybe a carbon rear bumper insert and bullets... That's about it, hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks there'll be some nice changes exterior wise that should look good when done.
