I've taken the butterfly plug out of the gearbox and oil leaks out, so there's plenty of oil in the box. Yet the box still whines.
Clutch bearings, perhaps?

Will these fit a Ph1 172?
I know...
The Ph1's started making a weird noise under acceleration.
It's like a whiny, very fast rubbing noise. Sounds sort of like a supercharger whine.
Only does it when in gear, and when pulling. Not in reverse, either.
Any ideas lads?
Induction kit on its own is largely pointless.
It'll sound louder, but won't make it faster.
If combined with a decent exhaust and a remap, it'll make a slight difference.
