    16v head with f7r

same weight, use the megane bottom end, its stronger. 1.8 loom is fine, chip the ecu.

    16v head with f7r

It'll fit on yea. 16v head isnt identicle, smaller inlet valves and different camshafts. Porting the 16v head is always a good idea, you only need a mild bowl port for street use.

    tubular manifold for a 172?

the 172 and 182 are already tubular. 172 being 4-1 and 182 being 4-2-1. The 182 item is better for all round performance through less raw restriciton and better pulse tuning of the low rpm engine. If you really want to get one made up, a 4-2-1 is the one to go for, 4-1 manifolds on a 4...

    TDC Sensor

TCD sensor, or CAS (crank angle) sensor provides the ecu with crank position information. Its either a hall effect or variable reluctor and uses a pulsed feed to provide the ecu with rpm information, and uses a missing tooth or teeth on the trigger wheel to refence a certain position on the...

    Which Leda's did everyone get..??

I'd personally go with their base oil units, no emulsified gas options or anything. On the road they are more than adj enough, their rebound/compression damping ratios are great and you wont overheat them without using slicks and long track sessions, or having them set soft and rolling...

    Anything wrong with 0W-40 oil?

synthetic oils dont run polymers like multigrade, well the good ones. And if they do, they are far more uniform so do not react or cause problems like multi's.

warming car up to 80 degrees

You will have tappet response issues on a cold day like today from start on a hydraulic lifter. Pistons also are designed to work with heat in them so thermal expansion rates are taken into account for build clearances, so until they are warm they can sound a little knocky. Plus cold start...

warming car up to 80 degrees

Not essentially, if the oil is say 40 deg or from a warm day, then you cna drive normally from the off and not ponce around at 2000rpm worried about damage and metal to metal contact. If its freezing, you can still drive normally.....but drive normally for that little bit longer. common...

warming car up to 80 degrees

with modern oils, once you start up and have oil pressure, there is no metal on metal contact.

    -Valve lift = 10.8mm -Cam lift = (Rocker ratio of 1.97) 5.48mm -Inlet valve dia = 33.5mm -Exhaust valve dia = 29mm -TB size 62mm - CR 11-11.2:1 - bore/stroke as said

    engine damage from idle?

It wont, if you drive it afterwards. There is a case where engines that are idles for excessive periods dont get the oil hot enough before they are shut down again. Acid can form with the water and vapours and can attack the block over a long period of time, but its only in extreem cases.

    172 Mk1 Timing Belt noise

a engine speed linked whine/drone (inreases with rpm) is a tensioner that is too tight. If you had both new belts fitted at the same place, you might want to ask them if they are aligning the tensioner markers correctly.

2.0 16v 172 head same casting as megane??

it is only simiar to other F4R heads, as in it will fit the block and cams. But the 172 is an 'S' sport casting with cnc work on the ports. So if your referring to the new megane, its similar. If referring to the old megane, nope....totally diff.

Aargh - New Rota wheels are corroding!

Stone and any sort of grit can put a pinhole in the thin laquer and any water/salt will corrode ally rather fast, especially when it gets under the laquer.
