yeah I saw that, I was in the same frame of mind, I’d prefer a mk2 if I was to get one, they can be had for 1000-1100 second hand nowadays, so still a fair price. I could have one if I sold some of my current lenses, but it’d be stupid just for one lens really.
I made the jump to FF last year and has been the best thing I’ve done. The quality of the images straight from the camera is much better, along with the actual look to the images. I use a 7D quite often (not mine) and the files from that (using the same lens) are quite flat compared to my 5D...
There were an awful lot of barriers compared to what I’m used to, my local circuit Oulton Park has hardly any large barriers being more open with more run off etc, so yeah. There were a few places that you could work around it, but you’d need media passes to really make best use of the place.
Looking good this year, hopefully I can attend to do some photos etc. The helicopter rides sound particularly interesting, especially for photos of the event :)
Yeah it’s possible, I can’t vouch for the wider response to the beta tests of the new layout we saw, but from what I’ve seen they seem to have just been ignorant and just implemented it anyway despite what people had to say lol. Hopefully something is done, other than that I like the new layout...
The main annoyance of it for me is that when I select a size to embed on the forum it jumps back to the default 500 pixel size when I prefer 640 pixels, which was annoying when doing my BTCC thread for instance. It never used to do this, it used to remember what the last size used was.
Yeah, it proved tricky with so many fences compared to Oulton Park but other than that it’s great, with the types of corners it’s ideal for panning.
Cheers, I was shooting at around 1/30th and even 1/20th for most of these :)
Only on forums and personal pages such as my Facebook page, my Website and Twitter. I usually tweet the photos to the relevant people for publicity etc, for instance the official BTCC page retweeted me yesterday. Here are links to all of the pages-...
I travelled a fair distance from the North West to Brands Hatch with James Bryan, Gavin and co for the BTCC at the weekend; this was to be the first Motorsport event of the year for me so it’d been a while since I shot motorsport, but I managed to get back into the swing of things with panning...
Just gave this a watch and tried it out, it works well. I’m guessing because if the technique this would reduce any grain from sharpening due to not being an actual sharpen tool.
The bottom line is, you’re sharpening with blur!
Yeah he’s one of the big names, especially in commercial etc as I’m sure you know. He also did the commercial job for the 5D Mark II (my camera) when it was the first 1080p video DSLR :)
I’ve just had a reply from Vincent Laforet on Twitter about this picture, it’s safe to say I’m chuffed with him being one of the top guys in Photography world wide!
