Should be perfectly safe. Remapping usually makes very small changes anyway, its not completely changing how the engine runs - just slight tweaks in most cases :)

I used Halfords Ford Graphite Grey for mine :) Grey Primer Spray :) Obviously you will need to sand the badges too.

Im up to 390miles on my tank at the mo. Average 43mpg. I did an economy run to nottingham and back for work, but other than that, normal driving :) I think the RSTuner remap has improved it too!

Well not so much 'you get what you pay for', more of you can get carried away in buying too many products!! Autoglym do make some very good products that will get good results for beginners. I think halfords are still doing a 3 for 2 :)

How much do you want to spend lol!?! For not too much $$ but good results, I would recommend AG car shampoo, AG super resin polish, and then a good wax. I use AG HD Wax, but others on here will recommend other things :)
