Re: White Trackday 172 Project
Haven't really done much in the last 2-3 weeks, been sorting mechanical parts to try and finish it off and finally get it up and running which hopefully should be this Sunday.
Ordered a new exhaust to cat (or decat in my case) fitting kit, i have the old stuff...
You could try these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Renualt-4-Hole-Wheel-Spacer-Kit-10mm-Longer-Bolts-/280675951681?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4159972441
15mm are the minimum size for hubcentrics as the heads of the bolts that hold the spacers to the discs will protrude on say a 10mm spacer. So it's either a 10mm spacer and longer bolts or anything from 15mm hubcentric or bigger.
The emulator sounds like a possibilty, i've actually just sorted the registration number from the car the ECU and UCH came from. I could ask my mate to dig deep with it and come up with the VIN number, Fab number etc, would this then give me a chance of getting the immobiliser code?
Indeed, a...
Correct with the V5, the 172 was broken for parts so i have no reg number, VIN number to hand. Wouldn't clearing the ECU get past dealing with the key scenario?
Ok Jonny, so what's the procedure. I take it you mean the plastic fob part of the key? Also how would i be able to 'code' the key, assuming you mean the same code that's on the ECU? Blank key direct from Renault, E Bay?
Apologies for the questions, i wish i sorted this earlier in the project build
Not sure on the colour, i'd have to check it tomorrow. I 100% know the UCH and ECU are from the same car as I took the engine loom and interior loom from it
Ok so this weekend coming the white Clio should fire up, but i believe the ECU needs clearing first. The UCH and ECU are from a silver phase 1, the key belongs to the white 172 so it doesn't match the UCH and ECU.
Is there somewhere in Essex that can do this or is there a reliable company i...
I bought the K Tec coilover kit about a year ago and didn't have any problems with leaking. Personally for what I paid I thought they were up to the job for everyday use and fast road. It gave my phase 1 a nice look when I had it lowered. I sold them on a few weeks back and after a quick clean...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
I think the hardest part about swapping over to updated bushes is getting the old ones out. 2 long bolts where the bushes are, 2 bolts for the balljoint and 1 for the outer ARB bush gets it off. If you know a metal fabrication company or know a mate that welds...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
Certainly is getting there :) yes the battery will be relocated in the back but for now just so we can get it running and out on track for setting up we're leaving it in the OE position. There's enough bits and pieces that require our time and attention so it's...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
A few updates with pics.
While the engine was out i thought it would be such a shame to drop it back in with the original alternator setup using an Air Con pump still in situ but not actually having any air con in the Clio. I thought i'd look into the infamous...
It is an option as i have the blue shell with the phs 2 sender in it. I thought it might have been easier to swap the rails over than sort the fuel lines that are under the car
I've bought new brackets that hold the ABS lines from Renault which bolt to the front dampers. The problem the parts department have is finding the part number for the Torx screw that holds this bracket to the damper.
Has anyone bought these and have the part number on an invoice they could...
Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
I wonder how much my Clio is worth, not thought about selling but for agreed value etc? How do you put a value on your own car.
Clio 172 shell
Clio Cup rollcage
Mk2 dashtop
Cobra Monaco S seats
4 point Sabelt harnesses
OMP steering wheel
K Tec carbon bonnet...
I'm swapping most of the parts from the Y reg blue Clio 172 into the X reg white Clio 172. I assumed that as they were both phase 1 models there wouldn't be any difference to any of the parts or setups. So far it's been the case until we noticed that the X reg has both fuel and fuel return and...
So, to convert my 'later' F4R to run a true phase 1 fuel setup that's already in place in the white shell I can fit a phase 1 fuel injector rail with the FPR in the rail?
Blue is Y reg, White is X reg
I'd have to swap the fuel senders over and fuel lines to gofrom the old blue shell as I'm using the engine from the blue shell. Or change the fuel rail to run 1 with an FPR
Ok, the X reg shell runs the fuel in and return which I believe to be correct and used the FPR. The Y reg phase 1 shell only has the fuel in and no FPR in the injector rail.
Is it just a case of me fitting an injector rail with an FPR then running the pipe to the inlet or is there more to it...
