Can one of the Plymouth boys please confirm the postcode of the nearest car wash to the meeting place just in case I can make it? IIRC Sainsbury's PFS doesn't have one?
If your doing short trips, the MPG will go up in winter months quite a bit as the cold map effectively stays on for longer thus you burn more fuel in the cold map. Take it for a 20mins+ run, then when hot, reset the MPG. this will give you a better idea of what its doing once the engine is hot...
turn the speed dial down? mine fires about once every 10 seconds on position 1 (auto position) and the speed/sensitivity selector on minimum. (provided its light rain)
Mine was like this, the root cause was the power steering pump putting to much straine on the belt which was causing the tensioner to push up in the belt. it could also be a ceased tensioner. Your aux belt will need changing now as its damaged.
Here's the threads relating to mine...
Not sure if it been pointed out, but the advert says it comes as standard, so the wheels etc will be the cup wheels not the ones that's in the picture.
Don't worry its just the cold. Mines dropped also. I think its to do with the fact that the engine takes longer to reach the temperature for the hot map, thus you end up burning more fuel in the opening stage of the journey, which if its a short journey will make a big difference to the MPG.
yeah you can hear the fuel priming form the drivers seat, its quite loud :) If in doubt, wip the inlet manifold and injectors off, turn the car over and you will see fuel spray from the jets. Whilst you there, check the fuel pipes aren't damaged/leaking.
yes, depending on how hard the impact was you could have made something in the loom come loose or damaged some wires near the front of the car. Check the coils again (even though they are new, could just be a dodgy unit).
Do you hear the pump prime for 2 seconds when you turn the key then?
you should hear the fuel pump prime the lines when you turn the key (lasts about 1 - 2 seconds). another thing to check is the coil pack (i.e make sure its actually sparking at the plugs). You can test it on the 1.2's by pulling off the HT lead and holding the end near the rocker cover (or any...
oh right lol sorry. In the RSTuner software you can do 'dyno' test. It wont be that accurate, but it gives you an idea of what changed/where the powers increased.
To use it, start the car, connect to car I RSTuner, go for a drive and when you ready to do the test, press 'activate PA mode'...
