I think Aucky's point is that he has done it both ways.
The more traditional route (which has cost him £1500), and now the RS2 route, which has cost similar.
The RS2, for a similar cost, is imho, a much better choice, & if werent such a notorious tight ar5e, definitely the route that i would...
Can you point me in the direction of said thread? Being a Trophy owner, & one of the more active members of the forum, i cannot remember such comments. Unless of course, the comments were in some secret detailing section that they have banned me from viewing.
I am the devil afterall. Trophy...
I think you've got it all wrong Tony.
This is ClioSport, people are only interested in impressing the crowd, not actually enjoying the car for themselves.
According to 90% of people on here, my track car is pointless as it doesnt have coilovers or a weld in cage. I remind myself of this...
Correction factor @ 0.91 = 177 bhp
Add 9% to make:
Correction factor @ 1.00 = 193bhp
Now, i dont know the ins & outs of rolling roads, & correction factors, etc - hopefully someone will help me out here?
But is it coincidence that the correction factor has changed by exactly the same...
Im sorry, but despite the fact ure an inbred cornishmen like me ;) i cant take you seriously.
I suppose a better idea would have been to build a 200bhp + monster on 421's & itbs's, but alas, perhaps those who buy the RS2 want a reliable improvement in power...
Go off & enjoy ure itb's Laine...
Whilst this is now going slightly off the topic of RS2's, i would just like to point out something quite important, purely as this comment hit a nerve. Tom, for all his faults, would not rip someone off.
In addition (and i'll be 1st person to admit to being a bit of a wind up merchant), i am...
Daft suggesiton, but have you checked the battery is holding a full charge?
Iirc, when the 1st Trophy died, we thought it was the UCH, rumour has it, i had no power.
For me, yes. FYI, that sh1tbox of Guppys isnt the only ITB'd hot hatch i've driven or owned mind ;)
They are good yes, but i dont think they offer the gain that you would expect for the money invested. Like Chris says above really.
This is what 99% of people miss when modifying a 1*2 imho...
Not sure on Nick tbh, but i owned a 182 on ITB's, which i then broke.
To be honest, if the drive was that much better than my fairly standard Trophy, i would have fitted the ITB's. I didnt, which imho, sums them up. Not worth £2.5-£3k. In fact, i didnt even think they were worth the £1300 that...
:dapprove:
Exactly why i didnt touch the loom in the saxo tbh Nick, just hid it all instead.
Would the entire ecu/UCH/keys/immobiliser setup from a 182 not work, say if you swopped absolutely everything over?
Oops. Im no mecanic, but i would assume that even when people have access to the correct locking tools, they sometimes dont use them ...
Reminds me of this pic.
