I'm no mechanical genius, but surely if a bit of the gearbox was lying in the road, that would require there to be a ruddy great big hole in the gearbox?!
Personally, id ask to see said hole in the box, just to ensure that the garage isnt shafting you for a box/as opposed to a driveshaft!
Personally, i dont see anything wrong with buying a 182 Cup, in fact, id say it was preferable. Why?
No climate - the dash panel will break anyway
No Leather Steering wheel - it rips/falls apart, retrim if your that bothered
No Xenons - cheaper bulbs/less expensive to fix
No leather seats...
Have spoken to owner at length about this, he is also on M3Cutters so easy to search his posts etc.
Was planning on part-exing the derv plus a couple of grand for it, but he sorted an A4 derv out instead.
If i was a cash buyer & wanted SMG, id be all over it like a rash.
lol, i've only wased it once. Ollie/JMS have twice though. Used the 2 bucket method iirc.
In all seriousness, for a track car, i find that mud/dirt/grime protect the car better than anything else. The stones on track just bounce off, & the sun cant get through the much to damage the paint...
You buy a 1.2, you take s**t. You join Cliosport, you take more s**t. Your post count gets a little higher, you take less s**t. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere of Trophy ownership and you've forgotten what s**t even looks like.
Welcome to the layer cake.
Good choice of car...
This.
Even on track im more than happy with my setup tbh, the only reason id change it now is to go lower, for cosmetic reasons, which is a stupid way to spend £1500.
If i was chasing lap times, my answer might be different, but im not.
Now on just under 112k (June 20th), so done just over 9k in 4 months.
Averaging 45-48mpg depending on how much traffic i have to sit in, giving a tank range of about 650 miles.
Still very pleased with it, tempted to upgrade to a 330cd Sport at some point in fact. Really is a perfect daily.
I cant see how thats an ethical dilema in the slightest.
Its not like you're planning on modifying the Trophy, which iirc was made by 18 yr old female French virgins fed only on a diet of unicorn blood & fillet steak. Playing with one is similar to f*cking your mum tbh.
Essentially, my CL pads are moving around within the calipers and rattling like buggery.
Do i need to find some shims for them? I had removed them for my DS2500's so assumed it would be the same for these!
Perhaps not?
Excellent, be interesting see how much quicker a race car is than a 'quickish' road/track car!!
With you driving of course, my 320d would quicker with Tom at the wheel ;)
Personally id also put the heater back in, i can imagine a heated screen being great, but it doesnt demist ure side windows in the rain ...
We also have a spare uch/lockset etc if u need it. Not sure about loom, ask mike.
