The B series honda is more tricky because the engine spins in the other direction, so it sits on the other side of the bay. Having to relocate the battery for a starter. Some custom engine mounts (not too hard, honda engine mounts are lovingly simple). But it is far superior to the Renault...
what you really want is to send it off to someone with a superfinishing tank, bung it in there for an hour, then remove a mirror finish manifold. Will work better if you shot blast it first with very very fine media.
You dont have to believe me, just just to put your mind to rest. I have tried one years and years ago. Ran it for a couple months, then i just turned it off and left it there because it didnt do anything. Then swapped it into another car because i thought i would try it on a different injection...
They drop the length of the rod down the pivot, so the other side under the car is longer and you have to move the knob less.
Its heavy, stiff, no feel, brass bushing that can sometimes squeek and stick......i just cant stand them, none of the cars they have been in feel good. especailly...
Weve seen and tried them before.
Never realised a gain over the valver 4-2-1, and it sounds very very tinny.
Doesnt work as well as a manifold should if designed from scratch.
lol, pressure always increases with rpm, it wont be a steady value all the time.
What you have to note is the pressure at a certain rpm and temp.
Renault suggest 1bar at idle is good, and 3 bar at 3500rpm is good....all at 80deg C oil temps.
pressure without rpm count and oil temp is...
I find that JUST cams by themselves are very dissapointing to the owers after all that money has been spent.
The gains are not realised because the manifold is so restrictive, so restrictive infact that the std cams are good for 200bhp+.
i hate them.
feel crap, have to stretch your arm, reverse and 5th are horrible and vauge to select. Youll fiddle for ages with the linkage and never be happy.
Its just a shorter sticka nd feels weird, and tbh.....you dont shift any faster.
Just so i cant sort out, firm people, with those asking questions.
If you are deciding to opt in, please make the subject Inlet manifold group buy.
Inside please put details of what you want, and when you are looking to have the work done.
I will respond with total price and assorted...
182s arent better, they just select them better and dont use the rubbish ones, same manifold.
The exhaust manifold is where its at in terms of differences, its miles miles better. But a pain to install.
Could the boys with the MK1s please email me.
And anybody wanting manifold work email me aswell, also include if you want the SMTs. I will keep tabs on the group buy and inform andy of who wants an SMT, rather than splitting up a single job and confusing issues...
Magneti Marelli
