In future, i'm only going to get my wheels acid dipped, bead blasted and powder coated in primer grey. Then i'm going to wet flat them and paint them the OEM colour inside and out myself.
I've had god knows how many sets of wheels refurbed, in pretty much every form possible and to date I have...
I wouldn't touch one of them with a Barge pole.
Iirc, someone on here fitted one and bolted it straight to the tin floor with m10 nuts and bolts. I'd not want to be in that car if it rolled.
The 'dealer' you bought the car from is laughing at you.
You have owned the car for 2 weeks, it is down to them to sort the problem out, not you.
I suggest you speak to Trading standards to make yourself clear about the rights you have. Then I suggest you ring the dealer back and tell them...
From the years 2000-2006 inclusive, mk2 2.0 clio engines are (more or less) the same to look at. There are minor differences between them but none that would make someone say 'wow never seen that before'. Trophy, FF, Cup, makes no difference.
The biggest difference as has been mentioned, Most...
The last track day I did, I had to emergency fit some £17 halfords pads in the paddock area after the ds2500's fell apart after 2 laps.
I shared the car with a mate so it was out all day and the brakes were fine! Obviously not as responsive as the higher end stuff but no fade, no pad deposits...
When you drive at 30-40mph in 5th gear and floor the pedal for 2/3 seconds and let off, does it jump out of gear? As in, at 30/40mph can you make it jump out by stabbing at the throttle?
If not and it only does it at 70mph ish, i'd say the box is fubar'd.
A cheap dogbone mount can be bought to check it's not that causing it. eBay for about £17. Dead east to change too.
Knowing the chocolate gearboxes though, I'd bet it's new gearbox time.
Yep. I'll take a picture of a Golf GTI he did yesterday. (He shares the same unit as me)
Obviously he's not as good as a proper bodyshop but i'm willing to bet most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Why would anyone blow into the rear quarters?? It's a separate panel, it's not old paint, it's a base colour....
Absolutely no need at all to paint anything other than that little 12 inch by 12 inch panel.
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
Wow!
With 330bhp you'll be able to leave even more people behind....
In all seriousness, you earn waaaay too much money! This is going to be epic!!
(Please choose your body shop carefully!)
I've done a bit for Bristol Audi as I'm good friends with someone that works there. That was my foot in the door.
But they have been using the same 'detailer' for a number of years so I'm not expecting to get reliable income from them any time soon.
Just bare in mind they'll want you to be...
My biggest customers are both car dealers so it's very up and down. Some weeks I'll do £800, some weeks £250.
I'm going through a quiet patch now actually but when the kids go back to school, the car trade goes flat out so I'll be proper busy again.
