cheers @Djw John awesome. Cheers @Sunglasses_Ron
I very much doubt it'll ever be that dirty again but never say never...
Only ever won one thing in me life so pretty chuffed tbh:smiley:
we still think mines the dirtiest. This genuinely on my way home. Its not from a hill climb or rally. You know its bad when everyone looks at you on the commute home.. The top image is from Asda car park as had to stop off on the way home.. Got some funny looks on the way out.:D
got dodgy written all over it. I sell on gumtree but they come to my door with the cash. Never involve bank details as there is no regulation or real protection on scumtree. Who buys a high value item second hand without even seeing it or checking. If you sell them a duff macbook the got no real...
a quick way is to pop the rail off (2x10mm bolts) get a piece of cardboard lined up in front of them and turn the ignition to see what the spray pattern is like. If one or two are obviously different then there's an answer. You can also unplug one Ht at time from the coilpack while its running...
when the injector has failed then yeah you get a really obvious misfire but if its starting to fail only very slightly it can go almost unnoticed. Injector cleaner wont do much if ones on its way out. Can get em on Ebay for £29.99 delivered.
did they clean the injectors? I would try some new ones. I had 2 go last week but thought it was only one. Replaced the one that was doing nothing to cure the misfire. Turns out another one was in the process of dying. Gave me really bad idle, almost stalling at traffic stops and an occasional...
Echo your thoughts on having a go yourself. I'm a self taught bicycle mechanic and I've just moved onto cars. I've always preferred to have a go and learn than pay someone who doesn't care about my car/bike from the next. I agree wholeheartedly that this forum is one of the best for information...
fitted a crank sensor, coolant temp sensor and map sensor to cure a lumpy idle. Made no difference what so ever:D
injector on the way out in the end after id already replaced another. 2 in one week, what are the chances! Italian injector in a French car, who'd of thought it....:D
sorted now...
right after replacing injector 4 to solve the misfire went down the route of crank sensor, map sensor and coolant temp sensor all made no difference.
so thought id just recheck the other 2 injectors that hadn't been replaced and turns out injector 3 was on its way out too. Bit weird the 2 and 4...
hi CS peeps.
just wondered if anyone's experienced similar things to what my cup is doing.
car wasn't used for week as on hols. No probs before it was parked for a week. Start it up and have an immediate misfire. Diagnosed as injector 4. Replaced, misfire gone.
But I'm left with a rough idle...
Got a mate in work who had a mate scammed by these 2 cretins based in Cardiff.
Matt Lanfear and Philip Allman.
They've been on the ford forum, fb, Astra VXR forums, golf mk5 forum basically scamming people for parts and cars.
my mates mate sold them a golf mk5 gti. They paid him with fraudulent...
developed a misfire. Suspected injector 4 failure possibly another injector going at the same time as it was rough as a bag o spanners creeping it home from work last night, worse than the journey in.
you ned to speak to someone...:D
seriously though that is an awesome collection. The V6 goes without saying. Love the odd one out, VW. Where do you keep em all....
