Do you mean aftermarket or new Renault one. If it's aftermarket then there isn't a huge choice. I opted for a Richbrook top gear multi fit one, £30 from halfrauds in silver or in black online. Comes with different tops you just interchange.
If it's an oe renault one then you can have my old...
The decat was already on mine. It is a pig of job by all accounts because of where it is. Definitely a ramp or pit job, not a driveway on yer back kind of a job.
You won't believe the difference the shift mod makes!!!
I combined mine with a new gear knob as Im not a fan of the RS gear knobs or...
Did the short shift mod on my phase one yesterday.
Makes a hell of difference. The sooner you do it the better.
I appreciate it's way easier on mine and I did it myself but I can't emphasise the difference it makes.
The decat combined with your new induction kit will give it lots of nice...
Small update.
Planned to change gearbox mount, lower torque mount(dog bone) and do a short shift mod today.
Well started with a wash as it was overdue.
The lower torque mount or dog bone by another name was a piece of piss to do.
Next was the gearbox mount.. The main nut was a bit loose...
Wonder if the lift mechanism is stuck in the lift position allowing you to just throw it across.
Might be someone with more meg experience to enlighten us soon.
@RMDavis unless the r26 has a different gearbox. I've got a 2004 225 with the Nissan 6 speed box they came with. My reverse is a lift up same style as the 172's.
How do you get reverse in yours?
Lovely car.
The gear selection is a bit wishy washy I've noticed too.
Luckily it's a lift up reverse so selecting an accidental sixth shouldn't happen.
My dmf is on its last legs so gear selection even trickier if pushing on.
Mine came decated and with a scorpion exhaust and induction kit...
Wheels look ace. Nice to see some variation on a megane tbh.
Mines decated with the scorpion exhaust sounds like wicked. Subtle at low revs but angry at full beans. Pops and burbles nicely too.
Me and my mate would go halves on a new amiga game and copy it for the other one. Then the next the other would have the copy. Used to love going to game and seeing all the huge boxes with 3.5 floppies rattling around in em.
Yet to be done mate. Got a price to fit. Waying up whether to go single mass flywheel as they last longer.
Cars running fine it just vibrates on idle but theres no noise or rattles at the moment.
Until it really affects the gear change, clutch and drivability I'll put it off for as long as I...
Just wait a bit and develop your driving skills. It's better to be over gripped than over powered when your still a relatively newish driver. I learnt alot of car control in my first crappy 1.3 maestro but it was so hideously underpowered it was funny. When I then jumped up to a 2. 0l Sierra...
Pointless exercise really but wants to commit insurance fraud. One of the main reason his insurance is so high is people doing these exact things.
Won't get a serious answer on this forum, just finger waving from us sensible grown ups...
I've done it. Loving the megane. As already said it's a bit more refined and grown up. Great fun when you floor it. Get the R26 f1, I think the mk ll has more character than the mk lll.
Cheers. Think LUK have the patent for dmf's so it's more than likely they make most oe parts. Renault want nearly £500 for one! Don't think so. Can get them used for under £100 but not worth doing that.
Turns out it wasn't a mount issue. Seems like the dmf is failing. Vibration didn't go away for long and yesterday the car struggle to get in gear at times. The commute home took twice as long and it was a hot one with lots of stop starting in traffic. Wife said it was making a racket reversing...
Fitted a new upper right engine mount as it developed a horrible vibration on idle this week. Easiest fix I've done on a car for a while and cheap more importantly.
