also in referance to my last post, a freeNAS box wouldnt need the most powerful hardware, I actually know people that have it running on old 400Mhz systems without problems (not sure if this ouwl help remove your need to make sure the hardware is future proof)
also im not saying dont do it, just make sure its well planned out before you start and you know about all the relivant things you need to know about. you will find people do thing in different ways (for exanmple I prefer RAID-10 as opposed to RAID-5 as this gives a faster recuvery time if one...
Yes I have seen a lot of servers which have been setup by dablers and they have been a nightmaire; group policys that contradict each other, lack of security policys etc!
+1, also if you only want basic services like file sharing/printer sharing, surely he would be better off with a NAS drive (or an old SNAP server)? I also dont see why you would need to route the internet through the server if your not going to monitor the usage etc? And any make of switch will...
I have apex -60mm springs on my 8v 1.2 and it was brilliant (the were actually -30 williams springs, which were sold as -60mm's for non willys). It was the best thing I every did to the car! Also bumps and that really arnt that bad, yes you feel them but you also feel the road a lot more as well.
Oh yeah, we must have posted at the same time! oops sorry!
One day when i have more space on the drive I will have a nice williams! (or maybe a garage would be better as it will probably rust like my mk1 ph3 is doing right now...)
I think i am going to youtube how power steering works because iv never actually know the reason for power steering to be so hard to turn when compared with non-pas systems. Is it still rack and pinion setup with PAS?
i agree its probably not he most common thing to be done; I only did it because the steering wheel was upside down and thus in the way of the dial kit, which i was tryign to see something on...
I was trying to see the dials in my car today and didnt want to start the engine, so I just popped the key in to release the lock ont he steering wheel and turned it with the engine off. Obviously being power steering adn as the car was not moving, it was very difficult to turn, which got me...
good job and thanks for posting the link to the car; it may just save someone else a lot of money and time wasted. :)
P.S. does that car look to high to anyone else to be on cup sus? the shot of the wheel looks like the arch is way too high!
Just checked mine, no error codes for me :) As other have said, the 'bong bong bong' sound is just like that heard on a plane! There must be a way to swap the beep beep beep to a bong bong bong for warnings?!
Is there a similar check for Mk3 clios (the one with 2 buttons on the stalk)?
8/10 - havent had it long enougth to give it more. I dont know any other car that I can get climate control, cruise control, speed limiter, automatic headlights, automatic wipers and xenons with a nice quick package out of the box for the same money.
yes just drill a hole in a place where it wont hit anything the other side. To seal it I would paint the hole with hammerite and once dry, place a rubber gromet in the hole (so make sur eyou drill your hole big enougth to accept a groment). Hope that helps.
Many thanks, that helps clear things up in my head. I think my car must of had the cup splitter at some point ( as it has both cup packs) but I think it must have been either 1. taken off, or 2. broken off as the car is pretty low (the bumper wont fit over a normal height kerb at its current...
What exactly is the splitter (i thought it was a bit of plastic that fits ont he bottom of the bumper)? And how come you can fit other brands such as a skoda splitter to a clio? Should I have one (the front of my car seems to low as it is!)?
thats fin if your using tiny tiny wireing like yours (your amp must be either very small or very under-powered). Actually even then its not ok, that cabling is obviously ment to take the load of something else, and with your amp + the original load it could cause problems!
I would suggest...
they were recently replaced i think (previous owner).
Yes had alignment checked and tyres are nearly brand new. I think it might be the the inperfections int he road then as there is a lot of that in the south west as the moment! Dont even know why im paying road tax tbh!!!
Really want to know whats been replaced on it and what its been replaced with, so if the previous owner is still around, please respond! I have even gone as far as to put my whole number plate!! ahhh! scary!
