Bonnet bras are for people who think having their car look like a spacktard in a straightjacket is better than having a few slight almost unnoticeable stone chips.
Your car is not made of platinum FFS.
When I say blood boil, I mean it angers me, frustrates me that people drive to such a low standard and never make any effort to improve.
I don't let it get to me in the road...if I did I'd not have sat patiently behind the BMW, or dropped back from the MPV awaiting their next unpredictable move...
I got a stainless exhaust from them for my 172 Cup when it had 2,500 miles on it.
90,000 miles later and after some serial track abuse the centre silencer fractured.
They replaced it free of charge under their lifetime warranty. No questions asked and absolutely no hassle whatsoever.
...or driving with one's head up one's arse
Out for a blast to scrub in my new PE2s and came across these two numpties...makes my blood boil! No matter how hard I try I can't get my head round why you'd want to take a lane 1/2 mile before you need to while you hold everyone else...
Yup, below 2-3krpm it's like the pedal's connected to the throttle body with a very slack bungee cord.
Above 5k it's better, but still not twitch-your-ankle-razor-sharp.
I'm learning to drive around it, have to give it a more considered stab when rev matching, but beyond that it's no issue at...
Hello and welcome.
My advice would be similar to his lordship above, take it on a trackday and drive it.
I did that when I got my 172 Cup new in 2003, and for the first 5 years of ownership I did a mountain of trackdays, and only ever changed/upgraded the brakes to braided lines with better...
This makes me LOL every single time it's posted in response to a new member introduction.
What's this forum/club called?
Should we change its name as it's clearly a f*** up?
Looked at Camskill and MyTyres and seems I got a good deal from the the tyre place this morning...ended up paying £302 all in.
MyTyres have them at £153.50 each without fitting!
Going for the PE2s.
Don't know what I was thinking tbh.
I know they're outrageously expensive but have no other options, the tyre's off the rim and they understandably will not refit it.
Opinions?
A really slow puncture has turned out to be a tiny hole right on the shoulder so not repairable.
Tyre's off and I've got the option of 2 Prestivo Sports at £80 each, or Michelin Exalto PE2 £160 each. They have no other stock :(
Thinking PE2s as I don't want to regret not spending...
I've never had a problem with PC World.
My current branded laptop came from them, purely because no other retailer (internet or otherwise) could offer the same spec for anywhere near the same price at the time.
I went in last year on the day of the Royal wedding, was deadly quiet, had staff...
My car has been without a headling for the last 3 years...it spends weeks at a time without turning a wheel, and is parked a stone's throw from the beach so in a relatively humid area...but I have never had even so much as a drop of condensation on the inside of my roof?!?
I've no idea why!
Rev in 6th equate to pretty much the same as the revs in 5th in my 172 Cup i.e. 2k rpm at 40mph, 4k rpm at 80mph.
Bigger frontal area though so needs to make a bigger hole, more rolling resistance from 215 tyres, and more mass to accelerate up to speed in the first place.
Get gready with the...
I've found this..under reads 2-3 mpg for me.
Speed wise for me it's all country roads so peaks of 60-70mph but 'cruising' pace is more like 40-50mph.
The reason I get such good economy though is that I never press the brake pedal...26 miles home from work the other night, and I gently brushed...
The non-cup 200 suspension is perfect in every single way!
Except you don't get red calipers, nor can you brag that you have ultra hard cup suspension ;)
I went from a 172 Cup to a non-cup 200.
The 200 is not as raw, nor as ultimately chuckable as a 172, but once you recalibrate your senses they are just as much fun, if not more.
As for fuel...I haven't seen that much of a difference. Managed to get a genuine 42mpg out of it recently over 200...
Have to drop out of this now. Gutted, it's a new year tradition LOL. Was planning on bring the 172 Cup and the 200. F***ing wife has double booked something. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Does the clutch work OK?
If so, just do the whole journey in 2nd.
I had to get mine home from Goodwood (10 miles) then across to Rentech for repair (35 miles) while it was stuck in second...only I didn't have the luxury of a clutch.
Made my ears bleed but apart from that was manageable!
