Im wanting to prepare the car for trackdays and after any advice you guys can give me. i would also be interested in buying any used parts required. im planning a stripout, bucket seats and maybe coilovers. Hello and welcome.

My advice would be similar to his lordship above, take it on a trackday and drive it.

I did that when I got my 172 Cup new in 2003, and for the first 5 years of ownership I did a mountain of trackdays, and only ever changed/upgraded the brakes to braided lines with better fluid, discs, and pads.

Still have it now after 125k miles and if a spring hadn't broken recently, it would still be on standard springs and dampers all round.

They really are quite capable and hardy enough as they come out of the factory.
